A first hole is formed on one plane of the sound box, and a second hole is formed on another plane of the sound box. The speaker is mounted on the first hole. The gas absorption element is mounted on the second hole.

Abstract: A portable electronic device includes a cabinet and a speaker. The cabinet has a rear portion, a side wall connected to the rear portion, and an acoustic hole disposed on the side wall. The speaker is disposed in the cabinet, and has a loudspeaker membrane extending along a plane located between the acoustic hole and the rear portion. Thus, the sound quality of the portable electronic device is improved, and the thickness thereof is decreased.

Abstract: In a device including a headset jack having an external microphone contact, and an external microphone signal path connected to the external microphone contact, a method including detecting whether a headset plug is plugged into the headset jack and, if the headset plug is detected, selecting an audio signal received from the external microphone signal path, recording the selected audio signal, to produce a recorded audio signal, and determining if an external microphone is connected to the external microphone contact based on the recorded audio signal.

Abstract: A detection circuit is disclosed, in which the first and second pins are arranged to connect to at least one signal transduction area of the plug, such that a voltage division circuit generates first and second division voltages accordingly. A processing unit determines the signal transduction area(s) connected by the first and second pins by the first and second division voltages. When detecting that the first and second pins separately connect the microphone area and the ground area of the plug, the processing unit controls a microphone switch to connect the first pin to the microphone output node and the second pin to the ground. When detecting that the first pin and the second pin separately connect the ground area and the microphone area, the processing unit controls the microphone switch to connect the first pin to the ground and the second pin to the microphone output node.

The first sound wave is transmitted out of the main body via the active sound hole and the second sound wave is guided in the main body and transmitted out of the main body via the passive sound hole.

Abstract: An audio processing device including a main processing unit, an audio processing unit and a codec is provided. The main processing unit includes a first audio interface. The audio processing unit having a second audio interface is controlled by the main processing unit to receive an audio signal from external and process the same. The codec is coupled to the main processing unit and the audio processing unit, respectively via the first and the second audio interfaces. The codec converts the audio signal complying with the second audio interface into the audio signal complying with the first audio interface for transferring the audio signal to the main processing unit, and the main processing unit processes audio data by using the codec and the audio processing unit.
