  • Publication number: 20090036613
Abstract: A blended two component polymer system comprising Polytrimethylene Terephthalate (PPT) and a CoPolyester of Polyethylene Terephthalate (CoPET) with a PTT:CoPET composition ranging between 95:5 and 5:95 which is melt spun with circular and tera lobal cross section spinnerettes for staple fiber and partially oriented yarn (POY) and the properties are compared with 100% PET polymer as well as 100% PTT polymer whose tetra channel fiber properties are superior when compared to the fibers produced from homopolymers as well as the bicomponent fibers, particularly their moisture wicking characteristics and increased dyeability.
