Abstract: A digital broadcasting transmission system processes dual transport stream (TS) including multi turbo streams. The digital broadcasting transmission system includes a turbo processor to detect a turbo stream from a dual transport stream (TS) which includes a multiplexed normal stream and a turbo stream, encoding the detected turbo stream and stuffing the encoded turbo stream into the dual TS; and a transmitter to trellis-encode the processed dual TS, and to output the resultant stream, wherein the turbo processor encodes the turbo stream using a plurality of turbo processors. Accordingly, a plurality of turbo streams may be processed in parallel.

Abstract: A digital broadcasting transmission apparatus and an inserting method of information for receiver demodulation thereof. The digital broadcasting transmission apparatus includes: a turbo coder performing turbo coding on a transport stream (TS) a field sync signal generator inserting information for receiver demodulation into a reserved area of a field sync signal; and a multiplexer adding the field sync signal into which the information for receiver demodulation has been inserted and a segment sync signal to the turbo coded TS to form a data frame. Accordingly, a reception apparatus can precisely determine the information for receiver demodulation and thus provides an improved reception performance.

Abstract: A trellis encoding device includes a trellis encoder block that includes a plurality of memories, and outputs a bit value determined by a state of the memories; a Reed-Solomon re-encoder that receives the bit value output from the trellis encoder block, and generates a parity corresponding to the bit value; and an adder that receives the parity generated by the Reed-Solomon re-encoder and a transmission stream including a parity, and corrects the parity of the transmission stream by adding the parity generated by the Reed-Solomon re-encoder to the transmission stream, thereby generating a parity-corrected transmission stream.
