  • Publication number: 20260113408
Abstract: According to various embodiments, systems and methods disclosed herein can extract an actual address of a visitor location register (VLR) and an actual address of a mobile switching center (MSC) from signaling messages from a circuit-switched (CS) network in a foreign country and forward the actual addresses to a wireless network (e.g., a 5G network) whose subscriber is roaming in the foreign country through the CS network. The wireless network can use the actual address to determine the identity of the roaming country and the identity of the CS network so that the wireless network can exercise roaming control (e.g., authorizing or rejecting roaming calls) and billing users of the roaming subscribers based on which countries they are roaming in.

  • Publication number: 20260089481
Abstract: A disclosed method may include transmitting, by a UDM function based on determining that a network interworking support database contains VLR information for a UE associated with a legacy network, a deregistration request to a Home Location Register (HLR) of a mobile network such that an HLR clears the VLR information of the UE from the network interworking support database and sends a cancellation message to a VLR of a legacy network to remove registration information for the UE such that the mobile network avoids redirecting a call for the UE to the legacy network after the UE has returned to a coverage area of the mobile network after roaming in a coverage area of the legacy network.

  • Publication number: 20260052137
Abstract: Implementations are described herein for network edge protection using locality information. In some implementations, a security component of a primary network may receive, from a security component of a secondary network, a first network function discovery request. The security component of the primary network may generate a second network function discovery request that is based on the first network function discovery request and that includes location information. A network repository function of the primary network may determine, based on the location information, network function priority information for a plurality of network functions of the primary network. The network repository function may provide the network function discovery response to the security component of the primary network, and the security component of the primary network may send the network function discovery response to the security component of the secondary network.

  • Patent number: 12273396
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for implementing an IP multimedia services or subsystem (“IMS”) within a communication network. One system may include a server configured to facilitate multimedia communication services via the IMS. The server may include a memory storing an integrated IMS function and an electronic processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The electronic processor may be configured to receive, with the integrated IMS function, a request to establish a multimedia communication session for a user equipment (“UE”) device over the communication network; and establish and control, with the integrated IMS function, the multimedia communication session for UE device over the communication network.

  • Publication number: 20250088837
Abstract: According to various embodiments, systems and methods disclosed herein can configure a profile of at least one NF of a 5G network to support a plurality of requester NF types, including the type of network repository function (NRF). The NF profile can be registered with the NRF of the 5G network. Such NF profile configurations and registrations enable the at least one NF to be discovered by discovery requests that use NRF or a consumer NF type as the requester NF type, thus increasing interoperability between the HPMN and roaming partners that use different requested NF types in their NF discovery requests.
