  • Publication number: 20240070540
Abstract: Existing approaches for switching between different hardware accelerators in a heterogeneous accelerator approach have the disadvantage that complete potential of the heterogeneous hardware accelerators do not get used as the switching relies on load on the accelerators or a random switching in which entire task gets reassigned to a different hardware accelerator. The disclosure herein generally relates to data model training, and, more particularly, to a method and system for data model training using heterogeneous hardware accelerators. In this approach, the system switches between hardware accelerators when a measured accuracy of the data model after any epoch is below a threshold of accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20240061717
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are described that enable agent instances to be instantiated in containerized environments. When a new container is detected, a list of agent instances expected to be running in a compute instance or in a container may be obtained and compared with status information regarding which agent instances are active. For a non-active agent instance, an agent object and configuration information for the agent instance may be obtained from a storage. Based on the available name, the agent object, and the configuration information, the agent instance may be instantiated and connected to an agent status server. An application related to the new agent instance may be deployed.

  • Publication number: 20240060253
Abstract: Composite decks increase bridge strength and stiffness. Prestressed composite open web steel girder has added advantage of high strength cable support. Results of typical 125 m span bridges having heights of 9.0 m, 10.0 m and 12.5 m, and another 50.0 m span and 2.5 m height are given. Member stresses and bridge deflections during erection remained safe. Average steel off take for the 125 m bridge is 2.65 t/m and for the 50 m span bridge it is 1.77 t/m for limiting live load deflection of Span/800. Its reserve strength is 3.2 times service condition live load. The girders are panel wise workshop fabricated, assembled at site, jacked up or crane lifted to secure over bearings. Connection of the cross members, and onsite deck casting in parts with stage wise bottom chord prestressing is carried out. Short to long span bridges for single or multiple lanes in road, rail, metro rail, and coastal link projects are feasible.

  • Patent number: 11909603
Abstract: A virtual network function (VNF) controller (or module) instantiates two or more VNFs in a communication network to support a network service where the two or more VNFs include at least a first VNF and a second VNF. The VNF controller assigns a priority value to each VNF base on an overall network impact, a physical location of at least one network resource allocated to the respective VNF, a type of service to be implemented by the respective VNF and a customer impact based on how many customers would be using the respective VNF. The VNF controller monitors network resources allocated to each VNF. The VNF controller further determines the first VNF requires additional network resources and releases the network resources allocated to the second VNF based on respective priority values. The VNF controller further allocates the network resources released by the second VNF to the first VNF.

  • Publication number: 20240046412
Abstract: A system debiases image translation models to produce generated images that contain minority attributes. A balanced batch for a minority attribute is created by over-sampling images having the minority attribute from an image dataset. An image translation model is trained using images from the balanced batch by applying supervised contrastive loss to output of an encoder of the image translation model and an auxiliary classifier loss based on predicted attributes in images generated by a decoder of the image translation model. Once trained, the image translation model is used to generate images with the minority image when given an input image having the minority attribute.

  • Patent number: 11893072
Abstract: This application relates to apparatus and methods for automatically servicing item data requests in data management systems, such as in retail management systems. The apparatus and methods employ a throttling technique to service data requests from one or more entities. In some examples, a computing device initializes assigns a counter for each entity, and initializes each counter with an initial value. The computing device also occasionally (e.g., periodically) resets each counter to the initial value. The computing device may receive a data request from one of the entities, and determines whether the counter corresponding to the entity identifies a count that is beyond a threshold. If the counter identifies a count beyond the threshold, the computing device adjusts the counter, and processes the data request. If the counter does not identify a count beyond the threshold, the computing device responds to the entity with an error.

  • Publication number: 20240036968
Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to manage configuration attempts for a service following a failure associated with the service according to an implementation. In one example, a management service monitors hosts in a computing environment and identifies a failure associated with a service on a first host. In response to identifying the failure, the management service identifies one or more criteria to initiate an attempt to configure the service based on the type of failure and initiates the attempt to configure the service when the one or more criteria are satisfied. Additional attempts can be initiated by the management service if the initial configuration attempt fails after a timeout interval.

  • Patent number: 11886892
Abstract: Computerized detection of one or more user interface objects is performed by processing an image file containing one or more user interface objects of a user interface generated by an application program. Sub-control objects can be detected in the image file, where each sub-control object can form a portion of a user interface object that receives user input. Extraneous sub-control objects can be detected. Sub-control objects that overlap with or that are within a predetermined vicinity of an identified set of sub-control objects can be removed. Sub-control objects in the identified set of sub-control objects can be correlated to combine one or more of the sub-control objects in the identified set of sub-control objects to generate control objects that correspond to certain of the user interface objects of the user interface generated by the application program.

  • Publication number: 20240029052
Abstract: A device and method of authentication includes pairing a card to a mobile electronic device and a wearable device. A machine learning model is trained by obtaining first received signal strength indicator (RSSI) data from the card, the mobile electronic device, and the wearable device at calibrated distances. A first estimated proximity radius encompassing the card, the mobile electronic device, and the wearable device is calculated. The first estimated proximity radius is classified to be within a threshold. Upon receipt of a request to authorize a request, second RSSI data from the card, the mobile electronic device, and the wearable device is obtained. A second estimated proximity radius encompassing the card, the mobile electronic device, and the wearable device is calculated. Using the trained machine learning model, the second estimated proximity radius is determined to be within the threshold. Authentication is then complete.
