    Abstract: A method of operation of a flash integrated circuit (IC) memory device is described. The flash IC memory device has an array of memory cells and an interface to receive control, address and data signals using an internal reference voltage. The method includes, at boot-up, initializing the internal reference voltage to a default voltage. At boot-up, the interface is operable to receive, using the internal reference voltage, signals having a first voltage swing at a first signaling frequency. The method includes receiving a first command that specifies calibration of the interface during a calibration mode. The calibration mode is used to calibrate the interface to operate at a second signaling frequency and receive signals having a second voltage swing. The second voltage swing is smaller than the first voltage swing and the second signaling frequency is higher than the first signaling frequency.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to optimal intraday scheduling of aggregated Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). Owing to their stochastic nature, DERs aggregators are more suited to participate in intraday electricity markets. The current works on DER aggregators trading in intraday markets do not satisfactorily model the different aspects. The disclosure is an optimal trading strategy for aggregators managing heterogeneous DERs to participate in intraday markets. The intraday market is modelled using a joint price-volume dynamics distribution and an optimal bidding strategy is disclosed for the trades/bids placed earlier to be corrected based on the revised forecasts of demand and generation while allowing for energy exchanges within the DER pool. Further the optimal bidding strategy of aggregators in an intraday market is a MINLP problem, which is solved by converting the complex non-linearities in the problem into a coupled MILP—simple maximization set-up, which is then solved in an iterative fashion.

    Abstract: Aspects directed towards data storage management are provided. In one aspect, a data storage system receives fragmentation level information from data storage devices, and host data from a host device to be stored in the data storage devices. Based on the received fragmentation level information, a target data storage device is selected from the data storage devices, and the host data is sent to the target data storage device. In another aspect, a data storage device determines threshold conditions that trigger a defragmentation process. For this aspect, a fragmentation level metric indicating a proximity of the data storage device to initiating the defragmentation process is calculated based on the threshold conditions and a current amount of data stored in a non-volatile memory (NVM). The fragmentation level metric is then sent to a storage management device.

    Abstract: Described herein is an enclosure comprising at least one planar portion with an array of extruded holes disposed thereon. The holes are extruded along an axis normal to a plane of the planar portion and configured as apertures for heat transfer through the enclosure. The holes have an inner diameter and have a height along the axis relative to the plane, which provide greater stiffness to the planar portion compared to non-extruded holes. Techniques for producing enclosures with extruded holes such as this are also described. A schematic of an array of extruded holes can be generated by determining, based on a predetermined pilot hole diameter, a thickness of an associated portion of sheet metal, and a hole diameter, an extruded height usable for the extruded holes in the schematic. This may allow for simple conversion from an array of non-extruded thru holes to an array of extruded holes.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for preparation of a peptide of sequence ID No. 1 having a formula C231H354N66O83 from an endophytic bacterium Paenibacillus peoriae IBSD35 isolated from the stem of Millettia pachycarpa. The genome size of Paenibacillus peoriae IBSD35 is 5.8 Mb, 45.6% GC content. The bioactive peptide designated as Peoriaerin IBSD35 of SEQ ID No. 1 was purified from the fermentation broth of P. peoriae strain IBSD35 and characterized with ESI (nano-spray)-TOF MS/MS spectrum. The peptide sequences were generated using MASCOT, MS-MS ion search. It has 54 amino acids residue and protein size is 5383.747 Da. The peptide of sequence ID No. 1 prepared by the present process exhibited broad spectrum of antibacterial and antifungal activity. It is highly resistant and stable to enzyme, detergent and environmental factors. It has the potential for drug development against AMR pathogens. It can also be used as food preservatives.
