Abstract: This disclosure enables various technologies for tracking various objects (e.g., mammals, animals, humans, pets) within various defined areas (e.g., rooms, apartments, residences, vehicles, tents) to determine whether those objects satisfy or do not satisfy various criteria, signatures, or thresholds, which may relate to health, safety, or security of those objects within those defined areas. These technologies may be enabled via various radars (e.g., time-of-flight radars, Doppler radars) positioned within those defined areas to track those objects therein. For example, some of such radars may operate in a Ku-band inclusively between about 12 GHz and about 18 GHz, a K-band inclusively between about 18 GHz and about 27 GHz, or a Ka-band inclusively between about 26.5 GHz and about 40 GHz, each of which has been unexpectedly found to be technologically beneficial for tracking those objects within those defined areas.

  • Publication number: 20230409235
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable systems to efficiently interface with zoned namespace (ZNS) storage devices through a specialized management entity. To achieve this, the management entity receives write requests from a file system containing data intended for storage at the ZNS device. In response, the management entity selects a zone from the ZNS device to write the file data to. Accordingly, the file data is written by appending the file data to the zone at a location indicated by a write pointer. When the write operation is completed, the offset of the file data within the zone is observed and recorded by the file system in file metadata. In contrast to typical systems which allocate locations at the storage device prior to writing, appending file data and then recording the location enables improved efficiency in file system operations. Namely, that write operations can be issued to the ZNS device non-serially.

  • Publication number: 20230409597
Abstract: Techniques are described for partitioning B-tree keys of file systems into key ranges for parallel processing in delta generation during file storage replications between file systems in different cloud infrastructure regions. In certain embodiments, a delta generation processing for cross-region replication may utilize a key-range splitting mechanism involving a recursive algorithm that partitions B-tree keys of a source file system into roughly equal-size key ranges. All the partitioned key ranges may be processed in parallel and concurrently by different processing threads, one thread per key range, to improve the performance of the delta generation and achieve scalability.

  • Publication number: 20230412642
Abstract: The techniques described herein implement a proxy service associated with a public cloud platform. A proxy server receives a connection request sent via an account. The connection request includes a connection parameter such as a specific time the request is initiated, a specific location of a device used to initiate the request, or an identification of the device used to initiate the request. The proxy server maps the account to a policy. The proxy server then determines whether the connection parameter included in the request is anomalous to a corresponding parameter defined in the policy. In an event the connection parameter is an anomalous parameter, the proxy server takes actions to determine whether the policy can be dynamically updated to accommodate the anomalous parameter. If an accommodation can be made, a user or device does not have to wait an extended period of time to gain access to the resource.

Abstract: In some implementations, a proxy device may intercept a client session associated with a client device and a destination device. The proxy device may allocate a first port of the proxy device as a source port of a proxy session for the client session. The proxy device may determine, based on allocating the first port, whether session information associated with the proxy session would match session information associated with another proxy session. The proxy device may initiate the proxy session. A source port of the proxy session is the first port of the proxy device based on a determination that the session information associated with the proxy session would not match session information associated with another proxy session, or is a second port of the proxy device based on a determination that the session information associated with the proxy session would match session information associated with another proxy session.

  • Publication number: 20230408275
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing user control of alternate routes are provided. In example embodiments, a networked system receives a ride request from a user that indicates a drop-off location. The networked system identifies a current location of a user (e.g., a rider) and determines a plurality of routes from the current location of the user to a drop-off location. The plurality of routes is displayed on a user interface of a device of the user. In response, a selection of a route from the plurality of routes is received by the networked system. The networked system then causes presentation of a driving route corresponding to the selected route on a device of a driver and the device of the user.

  • Publication number: 20230409437
Abstract: Writers participating in a backup are identified. A mapping is generated between the writers and associated files. The mapping includes file properties. The mapping is initialized by tagging the writers with a full backup tag. A base backup copy of the writers is created by conducting a full backup of each writer tagged with the full backup tag. At a current backup operation after creating the base backup, a list of current files that will participate in the current backup operation is generated. The list of current files is compared against the files in the mapping to determine whether a particular writer associated with a current file should be tagged with the full backup tag or an incremental backup tag. The particular writer is tagged with the incremental backup tag when file properties associated with the current file have changed.

  • Publication number: 20230409446
Abstract: Communications are exchanged with a copy service of a host to identify writers associated with the copy service. The identification includes a type of a writer as being a system or application writer. Writers identified as system writers are added to a list of writers that should participate in a backup operation. For writers identified as application writers, components of an application writer are iterated through to determine whether a component of the application writer has a name or logical path that includes a name of a system service. When any component has the name or logical path that includes the name of the system service, the application writer is promoted to be of type system writer by adding the application writer to the list of writers that should participate in the backup operation. Components of each writer listed in the list of writers are backed up.
