  • Publication number: 20240015107
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for rate proportional scheduling to reduce packet loss in virtualized network function chains. A congestion monitor executed by a first virtual machine executed by a host computing device can detect congestion in a receive queue associated with a first virtualized network function implemented by a first virtual machine. The congestion monitor can send a pause signal to a rate controller executed by a second virtual machine executed by the host computing device. The rate controller can receive the pause signal. In response, the rate controller can pause the processing of packets by a second virtualized network function implemented by the second virtual machine to reduce congestion in the receive queue of the first virtualized network function.

  • Publication number: 20240011481
Abstract: A crescent member is disclosed which is configured to be in constant contact with outer and inner gear teeth to prevent unwanted fluid backflow between the gears. The crescent member may be part of a low-pressure fuel pump system for a diesel engine. In order to reduce heat buildup in the crescent member and gear teeth, the crescent member comprises a gap to allow fluid to flow within the crescent member to absorb and dissipate the heat generated by friction. The crescent member is resilient to maintain constant contact, but flexible enough to reduce wear from friction over time.

  • Publication number: 20240015105
Abstract: A network system that implements quality of service (QoS) by rate limiting at a logical network entity is provided. The logical network entity includes multiple transport nodes for transporting network traffic in and out of the logical network entity. The system monitors traffic loads of the multiple transport nodes of the logical network entity. The system allocates a local CR and a local BS to each of the multiple transport nodes. The allocated local CR and the local BS are determined based on the CR and BS parameters of the logical network entity and based on the monitored traffic loads. Each transport node of the logical network entity in turn controls an amount of data being processed by the transport node based on a token bucket value that is computed based on the local CR and the local BS of the transport node.

  • Publication number: 20240015087
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device obtains telemetry data associated with application traffic for an online application. The device identifies, based on the telemetry data, a network path as potentially exhibiting transient events during which a performance metric of the network path is degraded that are undetected at a first probing frequency for the network path. The device determines a new probing frequency for the network path, to detect the transient events. The device causes probes to be sent along the network path according to the new probing frequency.

Abstract: In some examples, generative network-based floor plan generation may include receiving, for a floor plan that is to be classified, a layout graph for which user constraints are encoded as a plurality of room types. The user constraints may include spatial connections therebetween. Based on the layout graph, embedding vectors for each room type of the plurality of room types may be generated. Bounding boxes and segmentation masks may be determined for each room embedding from the layout graph, and based on an analysis of the embedding vectors. A space layout may be generated by combining the bounding boxes and the segmentation masks. The floor plan may be generated based on an analysis of the space layout, and synthesized based on the space layout, noise, and a contextual graph embedding to generate a synthesized floor plan. The synthesized floor plan may be classified as authentic or not-authentic.

Abstract: A circuit device includes a luminance analysis circuit, a luminance information calculation circuit, and a color correction circuit. The luminance analysis circuit executes luminance analysis on image data, and obtains dimming information for local dimming control based on a result of the luminance analysis. The luminance information calculation circuit calculates, based on the dimming information on n×m light source elements, luminance information indicating a luminance of light reaching a target pixel from the n×m light source elements. Among the plurality of light source elements of the backlight, the n×m light source elements are arranged around the target pixel for color correction in the local dimming control. The color correction circuit executes color correction on image data on the target pixel based on the luminance information, and outputs the image data after the color correction to the display device.

Abstract: Techniques to maximize connectivity to a preferred radio access technology (RAT) (e.g., 5G NR) over a less preferred RAT (e.g., 4G LTE) are disclosed. When a user equipment (UE) is camped on a preferred RAT connectivity capable cell (e.g., NR cell, EUTRA dual-connectivity (ENDC) cell), offsets or biases may be applied to delay triggering of a cell reselection. When UE is camped on a non-preferred RAT connectivity capable cell, offset(s) may be applied to accelerate triggering of the cell reselection.
