    Abstract: A multicopper oxidase mutant having improved resistance to imidazole compounds is provided. A multicopper oxidase mutant, which comprises an amino acid sequence derived from the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 2 by substitution of either or both an amino acid residue corresponding to methionine at position 157 and an amino acid residue corresponding to proline at position 414 with a different amino acid and has activity of catalyzing a reaction generating water molecules via four-electron reduction of oxygen molecules using ABTS (2,2?-azinobis(3-ethylbenzoline-6-sulfonate)) as a substrate is provided.
