    Abstract: A combination input unit comprises a printed circuit board, a press key, a retaining bracket, a light transmissive rotary dial, and a housing. The printed circuit board accommodates an encoder circuit, a plurality of contacts, and a plurality of light sources. The press key is disposed above the contacts, and comprises a flange thereof. The retaining bracket is fitted over the press key and connects the press key to the printed circuit board. The light transmissive rotary dial is rotatably fitted over the press key. The rotary dial is positioned above the encoder circuit, comprises at least one elastic piece for resiliently pressing the encoder circuit, and a reflective surface. Light emitted by the light sources are reflected by the reflective surface, thus to illuminate the whole rotary dial. The housing receives the press key, the rotary dial, and the printed circuit board.

    Abstract: A media playing device is provided. In an exemplary form, the media playing device includes a housing having a cylindrical end with an opening. The media playing device also includes a hollow turning knob. The knob has two protrusions on its inside surface. The media playing device additionally includes a PCB disposed inside the housing with a micro controller unit (MCU) and a pair of switches. The medial playing device further includes an attachment means for attaching the knob to the cylindrical end of the housing and allowing the knob to rotate with respect to the cylindrical end. When the knob is rotated in clockwise direction or counterclockwise direction, one of the two protrusions moves within the opening and can be moved to a position to contact one of the two switches to activate the switch. The activated switch sends a signal to the MCU and the MCU execute an operation.

    Abstract: An elastic contact includes a first elastic piece and a second elastic piece. The first elastic piece includes a base configured for being soldered to a circuit board and a connection part. The second elastic piece includes a contact part configured for resiliently pressing against an element and a connection part. Two sidewalls of one of the connection part bend to form grooves for receiving the other connection part. Limiting means are formed on either of the connection parts for limiting sliding range of the elastic pieces relative to each other. The first elastic piece of the elastic contact can be soldered to the circuit board by a SMT machine, thus the assembly efficiency is improved.

    Abstract: A media playing device includes a housing with a cylindrical end and a middle portion, a knob, a PCB, a cover, and an attachment means. The end has a reduced diameter with respect to the middle portion, thus forming a step, and has an opening. The knob has a cylindrical inside surface with two protrusions and is attached to the housing with the two protrusions being located within the opening. The PCB has a micro controller unit (MCU) and at least one switch. The cover is detachably attached to the housing and together with the step limit the axial movement of the knob. The attachment means is used for attaching the cover to the housing. When the knob is rotated to a position where one of the contacting protrusions contacts the switch, the switch is activated and sends a signal to the MCU, the MCU executes an operation in response to the signal.

The manual shaft is always driven by manpower to have the bindings opened so as to bind paper. This device has a margin guiding member to fix the papers in position before punching, and also has a binding size indicating member to quickly indicate the proper size/number of bindings being needed.
