Patent number: 12159812Abstract: A method of forming a semiconductor device includes following steps. A first organic layer is formed to cover a first conductive layer. A first opening is formed in the first organic layer to expose a first surface of the first conductive layer. A first silicon layer is formed on a sidewall of the first opening and the first surface of the first conductive layer. A first dielectric layer is formed on the sidewall of the first opening and the first surface of the first conductive layer over the first silicon layer. By using a first mask, portions of the first silicon layer and the first dielectric layer on the first surface are simultaneously removed to expose the first surface, wherein after removing the portions of the first silicon layer and the first dielectric layer, the first dielectric layer covers a top surface of the first silicon layer.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2022Date of Patent: December 3, 2024Assignee: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd.Inventors: Cheng-Lung Yang, Chih-Hung Su, Chen-Shien Chen, Hon-Lin Huang, Kun-Ming Tsai, Wei-Je Lin

Patent number: 7725705Abstract: A basic input output system (BIOS) setting method is applicable to a BIOS setting procedure of a data processing unit having a display unit and an input unit. After the data processing unit is turned on and a power on self test (POST) procedure of the BIOS is being executed, messages of a first function key and a second function key are displayed on the display unit. If the first function key is pressed, a first BIOS setting mode is entered. After the first BIOS setting mode is entered, whether any setting contents of the first BIOS setting mode are revised and saved in the data processing unit is determined, and the corresponding POST is executed based on the revised setting contents of the first BIOS setting mode, or the first BIOS setting mode is skipped and the continuing POST procedure continues to be executed.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2007Date of Patent: May 25, 2010Assignee: Inventec CorporationInventor: Kun-Hung Huang

Publication number: 20070220282Abstract: A system and method for avoiding power shortage due to accidentally pressing a power control switch during a BIOS update is provided. When a power control switch is turned on, a control chip module is actuated to send a preset signal to a control element module and a control signal to a power circuit module. Thereafter, the power circuit module sends an activating signal to the control element module. The control element module then electrically processes the activating signal from and the preset signal to generate an electrical signal for activating a power supply. During BIOS update, a BIOS update module continuously sends a GPIO control signal to the control chip module to replace the preset signal for maintaining activated power supply during the BIOS update, and sends a GPIO control change signal to the control chip module replace the GPIO control signal when the BIOS update is completed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2006Publication date: September 20, 2007Applicant: Inventec CorporationInventor: Kun-Hung Huang

Publication number: 20040205371Abstract: A configuration for tuning CPU working frequency and method thereof is disclosed, thereby adjusting the working frequency of a CPU of a data processing system at any time. An additional control circuit is not needed. The configuration is composed of firmware and software. When the temperature of the data processing system is too high, the working frequency of the CPU may be adjusted through the configuration and the method of the invention to lower the temperature of the CPU. Meanwhile, when the data processing system enters an idle mode, the frequency of the CPU is also lowered to reduce power consumption.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2003Publication date: October 14, 2004Inventor: Kun-Hung Huang
