Abstract: A diagnosis method and apparatus for measuring blood hemoglobin concentration, oxygen saturation, pulse rate, respiration rate, or degree of aging of blood vessels using light includes an input/output unit for receiving a command for measurement from a user and for providing information on the result of a measurement to the user; a control unit for receiving the command for measurement from the input/output unit and for generating a control signal; a light generating unit for generating at least two light beams for measurement according to the control signal; a light receiving unit for receiving the light beams transmitted through an object that is subject to measurement and for converting the received light beams into electrical signals; and a data processing unit for processing the electrical signals received from the light receiving unit and for outputting information on the result of a predetermined measurement.

Abstract: In a VoDSL (voice over digital subscriber) IAD (integrated access device) and a control method thereof capable of performing voice communication by using a PSTN when it is impossible to perform voice communication through a VoDSL service network, the VoDSL IAD includes a DSL module connected to a VoDSL service network and providing data and voice communications to plural personal computers and telephone sets; a digital processing unit for converting a voice signal received from a telephone into a digital signal format or a voice signal having a digital signal format received from the DSL module into an analog signal format; a SLIC (subscriber line interface circuit) for outputting the digital signal format voice signal from the digital processing unit to the telephone or outputting the analog signal format voice signal from the telephone to the digital processing unit; and a switching logic for performing switching operation according to a power state and connecting the SLT to the PSTN network.

Abstract: An apparatus for receiving a voice signal and data, and a controlling method thereof, by which a voice telephone call can be made even in power failure, network error, or CPU error, comprises: a splitter for dividing data transmitted from a data transmission unit into an internet protocol data packet and a voice signal; a first telephone connected to an analog POTS channel of the splitter for receiving the voice signal divided in the splitter; and an integrated access device (IAD) for connecting a second telephone to a voice line, that is, the analog POTS channel of the splitter or connecting the second telephone to a data line of the splitter according to state of power failure.
