    Abstract: A progressive bead forming metal die for forming beads in a metal gasket is constituted by a bead-forming die disposed between a hole punch die and an outer profile punch die. The bead-forming die comprises a pair of upper and lower inner bead boundary base blocks supported by upper and lower holders for pressing a desired bead shape and inner-bead flat sections, a stripper disposed so as to slide along the outer surface of the upper inner bead boundary base block, a die secured in contact with the outer surface of the inner bead boundary base block and disposed facing the stripper, a stopper disposed between the stripper and the upper holder to press-form an out-bead flat section between and by the stripper and the die when the upper and lower inner bead boundary base blocks are brought into press contact with each other, and an elastic member for urging the stripper toward the die.
