  • Patent number: 6241900
Abstract: According to a waste water treatment method and apparatus of the present invention, a permeable sheet 3 is fed into a treatment tank 2 in which a stream is formed. The waste water, which flows downstream, is caused to pass through the permeable sheet 3, while the permeable sheet 3 travels in the treatment tank 2 so as to traverse the surface of the waste water on a downstream side in the flowing direction of the waste water. Therefore, not only the sludge in the waste water but also the oily substances floating in the waste water can be collected and removed because they cling to the permeable sheet 3 and are gathered by it. As a result, a waste water treatment tank 2 and the like can be maintained in a usable state for a long time. In addition, there can be obtained a treated water to which microbial treatment can be applied.

  • Patent number: 6235188
Abstract: When the water stored in a reservoir 1 and containing chlorine ion and/or bromine ion is supplied to and circulated through an electrolyzer 4 and electrolyzed therein to create hypochlorous acid and/or hypobromous acid so that the water is purified and sterilized, a potential difference measuring unit is interposed between a measuring electrode dipped into the water containing the hypochlorous acid and/or hypobromous acid and a reference electrode dipped into water having a prescribed electric conductivity and containing neither hypochlorous acid nor hypobromous acid to thereby evaluate a measured potential difference as a COD value which is an index of pollution. With this arrangement, a polluted state of water can be promptly and simply evaluated as the COD value.

  • Patent number: 6231747
Abstract: An absorbent base material is impregnated with electrolyzed water containing hypohalogenous acid which is obtained by supplying water containing at least halogen ions between an anode plate and cathode plates and electrolyzing the water, whereby the occurrence of rough skin caused by a remaining liquid medicine and the like can be reduced or prevented.

  • Patent number: 6190570
Abstract: In floating substance removing, collecting and treating method and apparatus capable of securely separating and collecting floating substances floating on a water surface without adversely affecting an ecological system regardless of the type and state of the floating substances, a permeable sheet 4 is successively or intermittently moved through a drive unit 5 so as to traverse the treating water P taken from an intake port 3 and at the same time the treating water P is forcibly moved relatively to the permeable sheet 4. Accordingly, floating substances F on the water surface can be effectively collected by being deposited on and separated from the permeable sheet 4, whereby filtered clean water can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6146540
Abstract: A plurality of unit bags 2a, 2b . . . are composed of a permeable strip-shaped nonwoven and arranged in a successive fashion without break so that they can be easily accommodated and stored by being rolled. An annular elastic body 5 disposed around an opening 3a formed to an end of each bag 2a permits the opening 3a to be opened. Since an optically sensing object or a magnetically sensing object is disposed around the opening 3a or at a position spaced apart from the openings 3a, 3b . . . a prescribed distance, the portion of the sensing object can be positioned by a sensing device 15. Further, when, for example, sludge, and the like containing water are accommodated in a waste accommodating bag 1 and squeezed, the sludge, and the like can be easily dehydrated.

  • Patent number: 6113853
Abstract: In a sterilizing and rinsing water generating method of generating sterilizing and rinsing water by increasing the electric conductivity of water by adding halide electrolytes to the water and creating hypohalogenous acid by electrolyzing the water using an anode plate and a cathode, the mole ratio of bromide ions and chloride ions supplied by the electrolytes is set to 57:43 or a value in the vicinity of it. The sterilizing and rinsing water generated by the method can sterilize even germs which form spores having a high tolerance. There is also provided a sterilizing and rinsing water generating apparatus for embodying the method.
