Abstract: An electric deionization device capable of sufficiently removing weak electrolyte components and producing processed desalting chamber having rectangular-parallelepiped frame 20, a compartment member 21 disposed in the frame 20 and, desirably, having conductivity, an ion exchange resin 23 filled in small chambes 22 formed by the compartment member 21, and an anion exchange membrane 24 and a cation exchange membrane 25 disposed so as to hold the frame 20. The compartment member 21 is formed in a hexagonal honeycomb shape. The ion exchange membrane 23 is the mixture of an anion exchange resin with a cation exchange resin, and its mixing ratio on the upstream side is different from that on the downstream side.

Abstract: In the present invention, map data managed in different formats in different geographic information systems is converted into raster data and subjected to various kinds of processing to produce raster layers for freer use of the map data, such as processing and editing of the map data. A server as a map display device of the present invention has a control section. The control section controls to adjust, on the basis of attribute data, a scale and size of image data, which is stored in a storage section, in accordance with functions of an application program, to produce a plurality of raster layers, and superimpose the plurality of raster layers, and then display a map on a display section.

Abstract: An electrodeionization apparatus includes an anode; a cathode; cation-exchange membranes and anion-exchange membranes alternately arranged between the anode and the cathode; desalting compartments and concentrating compartments arranged alternately to be located between the cation-exchange membrane and the anion-exchange membrane; and partition members situated in the respective desalting compartments to form cells therein. The partition member has inclined portions inclined obliquely relative to a longitudinal direction of the desalting compartment to define the cells laterally and vertically. Thus, one cell faces obliquely at least one of the cells adjacent thereto to allow water to flow obliquely between the one cell and the at least one of the cells. An ion exchanger is filled in the respective cells. The ion exchanger do not pass through the partition member.
