    Abstract: In a shift device, when a lock lever is disposed at a restriction position or an intermediate position, a detent groove of a lever is abutted by the lock lever, and pivoting of the lever from a D position toward an S position, and pivoting of the lever from the S position toward the D position, is restricted. However, when the lever is disposed at the D position or the S position, by moving the lock lever to a permitted position, the detent groove does not abut the lock lever and so pivoting of the lever from the D position toward the S position and pivoting of the lever from the S position toward the D position is permitted. Thus, pivoting of the lever from the D position toward the S position and pivoting of the lever from the S position toward the D position can be restricted and permitted.

    Abstract: In a shift device, when rotation of a knob away from a P position is locked or unlocked by movement of a lock body, a corner portion of a pinion tooth of a pinion slides against a front face of a rack tooth of the lock body, thereby moving the lock body.     Abstract: In a shift lever device, a drive motor is driven such that a second worm wheel is rotated in order to pivot a shift lever toward a P position side. When a detection device has detected that the shift lever is about to be pivoted to the P position, a stopper mechanism is actuated such that a link is moved. When the shift lever has been pivoted to the P position, the link is fitted into a stopper notch in the second worm wheel, thereby stopping rotation of the second worm wheel. This thereby enables the shift lever to be stopped appropriately at the P position.

    Abstract: In a shift lever device, operation of a shift lever to a “P” shift position is allowed when electric-power is not supplied to a solenoid in a state where the shift lever has been operated to a shift position other than the “P” shift position. Moreover, operation of the shift lever from the “P” shift position is regulated when electric-power is not supplied to a lock solenoid in a state where the shift lever has been operated to the “P” shift position. Therefore, in a case where the shift position of the shift lever is other than the “P” shift position when electric-power is not supplied to the solenoid and the lock solenoid, operation of the shift lever from the “P” shift position can be regulated by operating the shift lever to the “P” shift position, and the shift lever can be placed in the “P” shift position.
