  • Patent number: 7101220
Abstract: A casing 2 is arranged in a through hole 41 of a circuit board 40, and an outer contact portion 3b of a contact 3 projecting from the neighborhood of the upper end of the casing 2 is connected to a connection terminal 43 on the upper surface of the circuit board. By inserting an end portion of a flexible board 30 into an insertion opening 9 from an upper aperture 6 or a lower aperture 7 of the casing 2 and sliding a pressure piece 8 toward the outer contact portion 3b side, an inner contact portion 3a of the contact 3 and the end portion of the flexible board are fixed held between a thrust block 10 and the pressure piece 8.

  • Patent number: 7025613
Abstract: A flexible board connector includes a casing having an opening in its upper surface and placed inside a through-hole of a circuit board. Terminals of the circuit board are connected to outside contact portions of conductive contacts which portions protrude from proximity to an upper end of a side surface of the casing. A portion of the flexible board is inserted into an insertion hole through the opening, and then a press member is slid toward the opening. Thereby, inside contact portions of the contacts and the inserted portion of the flexible board are sandwiched to be fixed by the press member and a wedge-shaped push-up block located in the casing. The press member has a cover portion which allows a portion of the flexible board located outside the insertion hole to be bent in the direction generally parallel to an upper surface of the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6606249
Abstract: A connection structure for connecting a display module and a printed substrate is provided, which is appropriate for use in mass production of electronic devices such as a cellular phone in which, while a thin mounting is desired, many components have to be mounted on the printed substrate and the display module is required to be mounted in predetermined space on the printed substrate. The liquid crystal module is provided with a pin electrode on an external connection terminal of its COF, and fixed to a housing in a folded state with respective rear surfaces of the COF and a liquid crystal panel facing each other. A holding member for engaging the printed substrate and holding the printed substrate is formed on the housing. When the holding member engages the printed substrate, the liquid crystal module is fixed to the printed substrate, and at the same time, the pin electrode of the COF and a through hole electrode of the printed substrate are electrically connected.

  • Patent number: 6514089
Abstract: A flexible substrate is attached to a terminal connecting device by inserting hold pins of the terminal connecting device to associated holes of the flexible substrate. The terminal connecting device is attached to recesses of an external substrate by means of hold body sections, and concurrently, the signal input/output terminals of the flexible substrate are connected to those of the external substrate. The terminal connecting device is provided with resin springs acting as springs for pressing the signal input/output terminals of the flexible substrate to those of the external substrate to ensure that the signal input/output terminals of the flexible substrate are pressed to those of the external substrate to establish connections between these signal input/output terminals. With this arrangement, a terminal connecting device for a flexible substrate can be offered which allows for readily establishing connection between the external substrate and the flexible substrate.
