  • Publication number: 20110064305
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an image receiving section, a succession value image generating section and a solid converting section. The image receiving section receives an image contains a line having breaks. The succession value image generating section generates a succession value image having as a pixel value the number of times of succession of black or white pixels in the image received by the image receiving section. The solid-line converting section, based on the succession value image generated by the succession value image generating section, performs solid-line conversion in which the line having breaks is changed into a solid line.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus performs color conversion processing on an input image. The image processing apparatus includes a block pallet conversion unit, a first color converting unit and a restoration unit. The block pallet conversion unit converts the input image in units of blocks into (i) pallet color information including pallet colors number of which is less than pixels included in one of the blocks and (ii) selection information used to select one of the pallet colors for each pixel. The first color converting unit performs color conversion on the pallet color information obtained by the block pallet conversion unit. The restoration unit selects for each pixel, based on the selection information, one of the pallet colors of the pallet color information, which is color-converted by the first color converting unit, to restores an image.

  • Patent number: 7304756
Abstract: A sender device 1 stores, in header information about image information, information indicating that attribute information and image data rearranged in sequence, and produces image information by means of storing attribute information and image data in a predetermined sequence. The thus-produced image information is sent to a receiver device 2 by way of a network line 3. When receipt of image information is initiated, the receiver device 2 refers to the header information, thereby determining presence/absence, in the header information, of information indicating that attribute information and image data are stored in a predetermined sequence. When it has been determined that attribute information and image data are arranged in a predetermined sequence, image data included in the received image information are immediately decompressed, and the thus-decompressed image data are output in the form of a record or display.

  • Patent number: 6483609
Abstract: A scanner 1 reads image information at read resolution set by a resolution control section 3 and stores the image information in memory 2. An image separation section 11 separates the image information into a first image plane (picture part), a second image plane (text part color information), and a selection image plane (text part forms) for selecting either the first or second image plane. The resolution control section 3 sets optimum resolutions in first to third resolution conversion sections 12-14 in response to image quality, the original type, the system environment, the image plane characteristics, etc. The three image planes are converted into the resolutions set in the first to third resolution conversion sections 12-14. The image planes after undergoing the resolution conversion are compressed in first to third compression sections 15-17 and wrapped in one data format by an image format section 18.

  • Patent number: 6426809
Abstract: Input image information undergoes color conversion processing in a color conversion section 1, then is separated into first piece of image data, second piece of image data, and selection data in a multilayer data processing section 2 and transmission data in the multilayer data format is output. On the other hand, a 1-layer data processing section 3 prepares transmission data in the normal 1-layer data format from the image information. A color determination section 4 determines whether the input image information is a color or monochrome image. If the image information is determined a color image, a selection section 6 selects the transmission data in the multilayer data format; if the image information is determined a monochrome image, the selection section 6 selects the transmission data in the 1-layer data format. Then, it transmits the selected transmission data through a transmission section 7.

  • Patent number: 6130966
Abstract: A facsimile apparatus contains transfer modes such as a standard mode, a fine image quality mode, a super fine image quality mode which are different from one another in resolution. A signal representing each transfer mode is transmitted from the transmission side to the reception side before the transmission and reception of facsimile image data. A control unit detects the resolution of reception data according to the transfer mode signal to switch over methods for conversion into high-tone in a high-tone conversion unit or to set the magnification of conversion of a resolution conversion unit according to the detected resolution. In this case, when high resolution is detected, the unit for conversion into high-tone executes conversion into multi-value using an area of 17.times.17 picture elements around candidate picture elements for processing. When low resolution is detected, the unit executes the conversion into multi-value using an area of 11.times.
