  • Patent number: 5633074
Abstract: A prepreg for a sleeve member of fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin available for a tennis racket or a golf club is woven by using ribbon-shaped reinforcing fiber tows/uni-directional commingle yarns and matrix fiber tows, and the ribbon-shaped reinforcing fiber tows/commingle yarns make the prepreg and, accordingly, the sleeve product thin, light, highly dense, economical and large in mechanical strength.

  • Patent number: 4736949
Abstract: The present invention provides a racket frame with a grip which includes an inner low rigidity layer embracing the rear end section of a shaft and an outer high rigidity layer embracing the inner low rigidity layer and partly in direct contact with the shaft, the direct contact being at the position of the node of the primary vibration transmitted through the shaft when striking a ball.

  • Patent number: 4697811
Abstract: A racket for tennis or like games utilizing one or more weight straps, preferably flexible, that are detachably fastened to the frame head by strings in tension for easy weight and balance adjustment by users in accordance with subtle difference in personal preference and to provide a safe weighting device which is unlikely to detach and cause accidental injury during use of the racket. The weight straps consist of a plurality of unit sections that are separated by spaced notches. The spaced notches permit a portion of the weight strap to be severed from the rest of the weight strap so as to allow variable weighting of the racket. The unit sections of the weight straps have holes located therethrough that are aligned with the string holes in a racket. Thus, the weight straps are held in place on the racket through the strings which pass over the weight straps.

  • Patent number: 4145047
Abstract: In a frame of a fiber reinforced plastic tennis racket made by molding process, thickness of the racket frame is reduced in an area starting from the throat to grip portion, and more preferably in the throat portion, to mitigate the bending stiffness of the frame at the portion thereby effectively hindering direct transmission of impact on the playing face to players' hands.
