  • Publication number: 20070134086
Abstract: An object is to improve the efficiency of a compressor by preventing localized concentration of a boundary layer occurring on the surface of a hub, and by inducing a reduction in the thickness of the boundary layer. There is a compressor impeller having a plurality of blades, and a hub disposed at the root of this plurality of blades, and in which at least part of the surface of the hub on which a fluid flows is inclined in relation to an axis of rotation, wherein a boundary layer reduction part which induces a reduction in the thickness of a boundary layer occurring due to a flow of fluid is provided on the surface of the hub.

  • Publication number: 20050254954
Abstract: An object is to provide an impeller which can suppress or prevent reversed flow of a fluid within a diffuser and raise the efficiency of a mixed flow compressor. In an impeller of a mixed flow compressor that has a plurality of blades, and a hub disposed at the root of this plurality of blades, and in which the surface of the hub on which trailing edges of the plurality of blades are located, is inclined with respect to a rotation axis in a plane that includes the rotation axis, the trailing edges of the plurality of blades are formed so that they are positioned on a line approximately parallel to an axis of rotation of the hub.

  • Patent number: 4964479
Abstract: A hollow housing with openings at opposite ends has progressive indications of weight at progressive positions along an opening in the housing. A threaded shank of a bolt extends longitudinally into the housing through the opening at the first end. A spring disposed in the housing is attached at one end to the bolt shank and at the other end to a rod which extends through the second end of the housing. A coupling member is attached to the rod to hold an article to be weighed. A retaining nut is disposed within the housing at the first longitudinal end of the housing to receive the bolt shank. A packing member retained by the nut is partially tapped to receive the bolt shank. By only partially tapping the packing member, the bolt is retained in fixed position relative to the nut. The bolt is changed from this fixed position only by applying a rotary force to the bolt to compensate for tare. A nut is disposed on the shank of the bolt externally of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4364303
Abstract: An air operated reciprocating tool, including, an air operated double ended piston positioned within a cylinder for reciprocation within the cylinder, a valve assembly in communication with a source of air for controlling the application of the source of air in alternation to opposite portions of the piston for reciprocation of the piston, a shoe member for supporting a tool and with the shoe member mounted for sliding motion, and belt means forming a loop for interconnecting the ends of the double ended piston and the shoe member and with the belt means supported by pulley members located adjacent the ends of the double ended piston and with the reciprocating motion of the double ended piston transmitted to reciprocating motion of the shoe member.

  • Patent number: 4073349
Abstract: A reciprocating tool, such as a sander, which may be driven by a rotary pneumatic motor via an eccentric connection with a gear train. In order to balance the dynamic forces generated by the reciprocating tool element, a weight may be properly positioned within the tool housing and driven by a similar eccentric connection to a gear train. Proper coordination of the gear train will result in the movement of the tool element and the weight in opposite directions at any given instant, thereby increasing the operator's ability to maintain the tool in a desired path of movement.

  • Patent number: 3988829
Abstract: A portable housing encloses a source of power which provides rotational motion. Means for converting the rotational motion to a reciprocal motion supports a punch which is reciprocated with respect to the housing along a particular surface of a first die member. A second die member is adapted to be disposed over the punch to form a die channel with the particular surface and to provide a cutting surface against which the sheet metal can be cut by the punch. Stripper means is provided to extend on the opposite side of the sheet metal from the cutting surface to maintain the sheet metal in a substantially contiguous relationship with the cutting surface of the second die member.
