  • Patent number: 6824302
Abstract: Due to an effect of a solenoid of a moving mechanism, when a valve and a shutter are positioned at a first position, a light source is positioned at a first light source position and a shutter is in a state of closing a window. A lighting luminous flux from a light source is reflected by a reflector so as to be irradiated as a first light distribution pattern. Thus, a part of the lighting luminous flux is introduced to the reflector from the open window. Therefore, it is possible to effectively utilize the lighting luminous flux emitted from one valve in correspondence to a light distribution pattern.

  • Patent number: 6585401
Abstract: A sliding contact is formed by a first terminal 40 fixed to a side of a lamp base flange 2 and a second terminal 41 fixed to a side of a slider 7. Accordingly, it is possible to supply an electric current to a glass tube 9 without bending a harness 3. Therefore, a harness 3 is not deteriorated, and a resistance at a time of sliding the glass tube 9 is not increased.

  • Patent number: 5067053
Abstract: In a headlamp having a light-diverging concave mirror, the inner reflecting surface of the concave mirror is a composite paraboloidal surface of revolution made of multiple different paraboloidal surfaces of revolution taking as common focus a predetermined point on the optical axis and smoothly joined to each other, and the lamp bulb is so disposed as to have the center thereof disposed as substantially coincident with the common focus. Each of the different paraboloidal surfaces of revolution composing the inner reflecting surface reflects the rays incident from the lamp bulb in directions away from the optical axis in a horizontal plane in which the optical axis lies, in directions parallel to the optical axis or in directions nearer to the optical axis.

  • Patent number: 4945455
Abstract: The inner reflecting surface of the concave mirror of the projector-type headlamp is composed of a central spherical area and a composite ellipsoidal surface of revolution formed by parts of a plurality of different ellipsoidal surfaces of revolution, smoothly joined to each other for junction with the central spherical area, having a common focus at the center of the spherical area and other foci, respectively, at positions spaced ahead of a predetermined distance from the common focus. The lamp bulb is so disposed so as to have the center thereof located near the common focus, and the convex lens is so disposed as to have the focus thereof located near the common focus.

  • Patent number: 4349247
Abstract: A mirror apparatus for automobile including an objective mirror region having an objective mirror and an ocular mirror region having a planar ocular mirror, wherein: the objective mirror is provided outside the automobile body to face an area of ground surface centering around the vicinity of the corner of the automobile body located opposite to the driver's seat, and the ocular mirror is disposed in a space within the ocular mirror region which has a first aperture for receiving therethrough an image reflected by the objective mirror and a second aperture for transmitting therethrough an image reflected by the ocular mirror to the driver's eyes. The first aperture has a limited size necessary for receiving the image on the objective mirror region reflected on the ocular mirror.
