  • Patent number: 6853102
Abstract: A turntable-integrated spindle motor according to the present invention is constituted by a stator and a rotor. The rotor is constituted by a shaft 4 supported in a bearing in a cantilever support manner, a metallic rotor case 1 fixed to the shaft 4 by a boss 3, and a magnet 10 fixed to an inner circumferential surface of the rotor case 1. A plurality of projections 2 are formed integrally with the metallic rotor case so as to project from the side surface of the metallic rotor case, the projections being arranged along one circumferential line. The projections 2 perform a coming-off-prevention function by engaging with an engaging portion of a chassis 15. The rotor case 1 also functions as a turntable. In the present invention, the motor and the turntable are combined integrally with each other to obtain improved characteristics as well as to reduce the overall height. Also, projections for preventing coming off are formed integrally with the metallic rotor case to ensure high strength of the projections.

  • Patent number: 5473210
Abstract: A stator for miniature motors having a permanent magnet fixedly fitted to the inner circumferential surface of a housing formed into a bottomed hollow cylindrical shape, in which the circumferential surface of the housing consists of two opposing flat parts and two concave cylindrical surfaces; engaging projections are provided on the flat parts, and flat surfaces coming in contact with said flat parts, and engaging surfaces facing coming in contact with the engaging projections are provided on the axial edge of the permanent magnet made of a flexible ferromagnetic material, and formed into an arc-segment shape in cross section; and the permanent magnet is fixedly fitted in the housing by bringing the arc-segment-shaped outer circumferential surfaces of the permanent magnet in contact with the cylindrical surfaces of the housing, and bringing the flat surfaces on the axial edges of the permanent magnet in contact with the flat parts by causing the engaging projections to cut into the engaging surfaces by the

  • Patent number: 4827167
Abstract: A miniature motor having installed motor components in a housing made of a metallic material and formed into a bottomed, hollow cylindrical shape with an opening at one end thereof; a cover made of a metallic material and formed into a plate shape being fixedly fitted to the opening, in which a plurality of minute ridges are provided on the outside circumferential surface of the cover, and the outside dimensions of the cover are made equal to, or slightly larger than, the inside dimensions of the housing opening so as to ensure a firm press-fit between the cover and the housing opening, thereby maintaining electrical contact between both.
