  • Patent number: 7178636
Abstract: A hoisting machine is interposed between a wall of a hoistway and a car when viewed in a horizontally-projected perspective, and a drive sheave is located opposite the wall of the hoistway. Vibration prevention members are located between the hoisting machine and a mount member attached to fixing members in the hoistway. The vibration prevention members are located at surfaces of upper and lower portions of the mount member facing the hoisting machine, supporting the hoisting machine on the mount member from underside. As a result, vibration control of the hoisting machine can be readily achieved, and the torque acting on the hoisting machine is supported by horizontal rigidity of the vibration prevention member. Consequently, the hoisting machine can be attached to the mount member without failure. Vibration and noise, which would arise during operation of an elevator in a hoistway of a building, is reduced, thereby making the environment of the elevator silent.

  • Patent number: 5653948
Abstract: Method and apparatus for obtaining finely pulverized quicklime powder having high reactivity by calcining fine limestone powder, particularly, of particle sizes 1-100 micrometers. Coarse particles of inert substance, particularly, those having diameters of 100-1500 micrometers, are fluidized with high temperature gas to form a fluidized bed, and fine limestone powder is supplied into the fluidized bed. The fine limestone powder captured by the fluidized bed is calcined therein and the resulting quicklime powder is carried away by the stream of fluidizing gas and recovered with cyclone and bag filter. Coarse limestone may be used instead of or together with the coarse inert substance particles.

  • Patent number: 5653312
Abstract: An elevator governor has two balancing springs, i.e., a first balancing spring for continually urging flyweights in a direction against a centrifugal force and a second balancing spring for urging flyweights in a direction against the centrifugal force only when speed of a cage exceeds a previously set first overspeed. Thereby, two overspeeds may be set independently from each other whereby the setting operation may be facilitated and accuracy in setting the overspeeds may be improved.

  • Patent number: 5355273
Abstract: In an auxiliary power unit for a vehicle which comprises a plug to be connected to a cigarette lighter socket provided on the vehicle, and sockets electrically connected to the plug to provide power sources for electrical devices on the vehicle. An overcurrent protective switch is turned off to interrupt the path of current to the sockets when overcurrent flows through the sockets, and a thermally operated member provided for each socket detects the temperature of the socket. When the temperature thus detected exceeds a predetermined upper limit value, the thermally operated member shunts the path of current from the socket, thereby to cause the overcurrent protective switch to operate.

  • Patent number: 4972572
Abstract: An IC sheet cutting press performs a series of press cutting operations to separate ICs from an IC sheet while feeding the IC sheet stepwise. In the IC sheet cutting press, a series of press molds and an IC feed mechanism are mounted on a common die set to constitute a single press mold unit. When a different type of IC sheet is to be machined, the entire press mold unit can be exchanged with another one, so that various adjustments, e.g., adjustment of arrangement intervals of the press molds or a feed interval of the IC sheet can be omitted, and the operating efficiency of the cutting press and hence the compatibility are improved. An IC sheet processing apparatus, in which the IC sheet cutting press described aboved is combined with an automatic IC sheet loading unit, an IC lead bending press, and an IC storage unit for storing ICs after the lead bending operation, allows automatic IC sheet processing including the cutting operation of ICs from the IC sheet over a long period to time.

  • Patent number: 4459464
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an electric cigar lighter for use, for example in vehicles, having a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker includes an elongated fuse member having a fuse and a tube for covering the fuse. The tube has a melting point slightly lower than that of the fuse. Therefore, when the fuse melts and separates in two parts upon overheating of a heating element carried by an igniting of the lighter, the separated ends of the fuse are wrapped by the separated ends of the tube. Thus, even if the separated ends of the fuse member contact some portions of the lighter placed adjacent to the fuse member or other members, a short circuit can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 4406102
Abstract: A precast concrete silo complex and a method of constructing it, in which quarter-cylindrical precast concrete members, constituting unit members, are each provided with a pair of radially protruding couplings near both the ends of the member, and the unit members are arranged to form unit cylinders. The unit cylinders are arranged lengthwise and crosswise, with the couplings facing the couplings of adjacent unit cylinders for defining a coupling space between each two adjacent unit cylinders. Horizontal clamp rods extend through the coupling spaces between the end portions of the unit members and between the couplings, and concrete is provided in the coupling spaces. The horizontal clamp rods are tensioned to clamp the end portions of the unit members and the couplings, to give prestress to the concrete, thereby combining the adjacent unit cylinders and solidifying the unit cylinders arranged lengthwise and crosswise.
