  • Patent number: 5195274
Abstract: A structure for attaching a door glass run to a door frame of a motor vehicle, comprising a door frame having a substantially U-shaped cross-section, and a door glass run having a substantially U-shaped cross-section. The door glass run has an outwardly protruding stepped portion in its outer side wall along an end edge thereof. The stepped portion of a corner part of the door glass run rises in such a direction as to lap the end edge of the door frame, thereby forming a rising portion. When the door glass run is attached to the door frame, the stepped portion engages with the end edge of the door frame with the rising portion compressed by the end edge of a corner part of the door frame.

  • Patent number: 5168668
Abstract: A door frame and galss run assembly for a motor vehicle including a door frame, a door molding secured along an inner periphery of the door frame, and a glass run inserted in the channel portion formed by the door frame and the door molding. The glass run has a solid rubber base portion which is generally U-shaped in cross-section and is inserted into the channel portion. A projection made of sponge rubber is formed on an outer surface of an outside corner portion of the base portion with respect to the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. When the base portion is inserted into the channel portion, the projection comes into pressing contact with an inner surface of an outside corner portion of the channel portion with respect to the passenger compartment.

  • Patent number: 5165201
Abstract: A weather strip including a trim part U-shaped in section, a hollow seal part joined to the trim part, and a core member made up of a plurality of U-shaped core pieces embeded in the trim part to the extent that the weather strip is not impaired in flexibility. Wires are embeded in the weather strip in such a manner that they are located near the joint and extend in the weather strip longitudinally. Hence, the weather strip can be engaged with a flange of a vehicle that varies three-dimensionally in posture and in direction.

  • Patent number: 4769950
Abstract: A weather strip to be installed around an opening of an automobile, has a trim portion of a letter U-shaped section, which is composed of parallel side walls and a bottom wall connecting the side walls, and a seal portion projecting from an outer surface of one of the parallel side walls, which is positioned on the outside of the automobile when the trim portion is mounted on a flange formed around the opening. The bottom wall is inclined in such a direction as to make an acute angle with the one side wall. In the weather strip wherein the bottom wall is inclined with respect to the side walls, the trim portion can be prevented from twisting and leaning even when being curved along the corner portion, and mounted thereon. And at this time, good sealing properties can be maintained together with good external appearance.
