  • Patent number: 4734623
Abstract: A fluorescent display apparatus includes display cells of a first type consisting of several sets of fluorescent display segments of various colors arranged in a certain order and display cells of a second type consisting of display segments equal in number and color, but opposite in the order of arrangement of colors, to the first display cells. The first and second display cells are arrayed in a matrix fashion with their lead lines aligning alternately with the intention of reducing areas used for the bend of lead lines and thereby arranging the cells closely so as to enhance the resolution of display.

  • Patent number: 4733023
Abstract: A coordinate position digitizing system comprises a position determining plate having a plurality of first conductors extending in parallel with one another at regularly spaced intervals. A plurality of second conductors also extend in parallel with one another at regularly spaced intervals and across the first conductors. Driving and controlling means are provided in common to the first conductors and the second conductors for selectively energizing in turn one or more of the first conductors and second conductors, for example, by supplying a direct current flowing therethrough. Pick-up means, such as a magnetic flux detecting means, is movably set on the position determining plate for producing a signal in response to field variations on the position determining plate caused by the selective energization of the first conductors and second conductors.

  • Patent number: 4728944
Abstract: A coordinate position digitizing system to be used with a cathode ray tube, comprises a position determining plate having a plurality of conductors extending parallel with one another at regularly spaced intervals, and driving means for supplying a constant current selectively to the conductors, one after another, within a horizontal scanning period of the cathode ray tube. Magnetic flux detecting means detects magnetic flux on the position determining plate, and a band pass filter eliminates a noise component resulting from the deflection magnetic field of the cathode ray tube. Positional data defining a position of the magnetic flux detecting means on the position determining plate is produced in response to the output of the band pass filter.

  • Patent number: 4727284
Abstract: A luminescent display tube wherein a plurality of luminescent trios and a plurality of electrode units corresponding thereto are disposed opposite to each other in a single housing, and a member forming an enclosure of each electrode unit functions also as an accelerating electrode. The invention realizes a high-luminance display tube or display cell of a small-sized structure which incorporates a plurality of luminescent trios serving as picture elements and electrode units corresponding thereto. Consequently, it becomes possible to construct a large-picture display apparatus of moderate dimensions by arraying a multiplicity of such display cells. Furthermore, a plurality of wire cathodes and first grids as well as a common second grid are grouped into an electrode unit with its enclosure functioning as the second grid, and such electrode units are arrayed correspondingly to individual luminescent trios, thereby facilitating assembly and manufacture of a desired display cell.

  • Patent number: 4683491
Abstract: A large-scale color picture display system comprises a plurality of fluorescent display cells arranged in an X-Y matrix to form a picture display device. Each display cell comprises a red, a green, and a blue fluorescent display element. Each of the display cells is provided with a horizontally-extending blind adjacent its upper edge. The blind has a black top surface to absorb light from the sun and sky, and a reflecting bottom surface to form a virtual image of part of the display cell so that a viewer situated below the color picture display device will see a picture which is continuous in the vertical direction. The reflecting bottom surface of the blind is electrically conductive and is grounded to prevent it from being electrified, for example by lightning, and to eliminate undesired radiation from the display system.

  • Patent number: 4571454
Abstract: A coordinate position digitizing system comprises a position determining plate having a plurality of first parallel strip electrodes provided on one surface of a insulating layer to form plural groups thereof each connected in common and a plurality of second parallel electrodes each having the width wider than that of each of the first electrodes and provided on the other surface of the insulating layer to extend in the direction perpendicular to the first electrodes, a detecting electrode provided to face to the surface of the insulating layer on which the first electrodes are provided and connected through a predetermined capacitance to a reference potential point for producing a signal in response to a voltage obtained thereat, driving and controlling means for supplying with a constant voltage selectively to the groups of the first electrodes one after another during a first period and also supplying with the constant voltage selectively to the second electrodes one after another during a second period,

  • Patent number: 4368528
Abstract: A pickup cartridge comprises a magnetic circuit having an air gap, a coil wound on the magnetic circuit and a cantilever having a permanent magnet inserted in to the air gap. In this case, the magnetic circuit comprises a delta-shaped jointless core having the air gap at its vertical angle, and the coil is inserted through the air gap and fixed to the core.
