  • Patent number: 5349421
Abstract: An electrophotographing apparatus includes a photosensor for sensing or detecting a reflectance of an original, and an output voltage of the photosensor is sent to a microcomputer. In response to the output voltage of the photosensor, the microcomputer controls a bias voltage which is applied to an electric conductive substrate of a photoreceptor from a bias voltage source. The bias voltage is adjusted such that a change of an exposed voltage according to the reflectance of the original can be canceled, and resultingly, the exposed voltage is kept constant. On the other hand, a developer is connected to the ground, and therefore, a voltage difference between the exposed voltage and a developing voltage becomes constant.

  • Patent number: 5218409
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is loaded with a developing device capable of being easily exchanged, and a toner sensor for detecting a toner density is provided in association with the developing device. An output signal of the toner sensor approaches 0 V as a weight of a developer becomes small. Therefore, when the output signal from the toner sensor is detected prior to an agitating screw is operated when a power source is turned-on, it is possible to determine whether a developing device attached at that time is an unused or used one in accordance with the output signal. In addition, the output of the toner sensor when the developing device is an unused one is stored in a backed-up memory as a reference value for controlling a toner density during an actual operation.

  • Patent number: 5111252
Abstract: An electrophotographic copying machine includes a paper feeding tray and a paper discharging tray respectively attached to both end surfaces of a body, each of which has a first, a second and a third tray plates which are rotatably connected to each other. When the machine is not used, the first, second and third tray plates are contained in the body in a state where the same are collapsed and folded over each other and, when the machine is used, the first, second and third tray plates are withdrawn and developed. A plurality of ribs which are extended in a paper feeding direction are on one upper surface of the first plate attached to the body in a rotatable manner, and a plurality of through holes, or slits, which receive the ribs when the first, second and third tray plates are collapsed are formed on the second and third tray plates.

  • Patent number: 5052009
Abstract: A process of assembling a semiconductor laser device which is reduced in number of assembling steps and a semiconductor laser device which can be produced at a reduced cost are disclosed. The semiconductor laser device comprises a stem having a lead mounting hole perforated therein and a lead extending through the lead mounting hole of the stem and fixed in an electrically isolated condition to the stem by way of an electrically insulating resin press fitted in the lead mounting hole. The lead is assembled to the stem by applying a pressure to the stem with the electrically insulating resin fitted in the lead mounting hole of the stem.

  • Patent number: 4711551
Abstract: A developing apparatus comprises a container in which a developer composed of a mixture of carrier and toner is stored and a screw conveyor for transferring and stirring the developer is disposed. The screw conveyor has a stirring blade formed in a spiral shape, and the stirring blade is cut out at nearly the center of the screw conveyor so that stagnation of the developer takes place at that interrupted portion thereof. A level sensor is disposed so as to be able to detect the level of the developer at that interrupted portion. In the interrupted portion, since stagnation of the developer takes place, pulsation of the developer produced in the case of the screw conveyor having a continuous stirring blade is suppressed, and thereby a level of the developer can be detected more accurately.
