  • Patent number: 6494082
Abstract: A method and an apparatus confirms airtightness of a closed space in a housing provided with a steam movement control device. The apparatus includes an air feed passage and an air exhaust passage, which communicate with an interior of the housing. The air feed passage connects to a gas injection device, which supplies a gas at a predetermined pressure. The air exhaust passage connects to a pressure gauge. In the method, while gas at a predetermined pressure is injected into the housing through the air feed passage, pressure measurement is performed in the air exhaust passage from the housing, and a measured pressure value is compared with an injection pressure value. When the measured pressure value is substantially equal to the injection pressure value, airtightness in the housing is maintained. When the measured pressure value is lower than the injection pressure value, airtightness has been lost.

  • Patent number: 6467335
Abstract: A technology for measuring an air permeability which can avoid, by using pure water in place of oil as a sealing liquid, adverse effects by oil mist and can accurately measure an air permeability by identifying variations in vapor concentration to be caused by using water. A device for measuring an air permeability installed in a constant temperature/humidity room, wherein an air chamber (22) is formed inside an inner tube (2) with the inner tube fitted in an outer tube (1) storing a sealing liquid, a sample clamping unit (5) that clamps a test sample is provided between an air passage (3) extending from the air chamber through the bottom of the outer tube and an exhaust passage (42) facing the air passage, pure water (W) is used as the sealing liquid, and a temperature/humidity measuring unit (6) and an air supply port (7) opened/closed by a solenoid valve (71) are provided in the vicinity of the sample clamping unit in the air passage.

  • Patent number: 6309448
Abstract: A water vapor movement control apparatus that provides a directional property to movement of water vapor between two spaces with different humidity levels, is provided with an insulated channel connecting the first space with the second space, a plurality of chambers formed in the channel by a plurality of moisture-permeable membranes which are waterproof and air permeable, and a Peltier element that creates a temperature gradient so that the air in the chambers is always at lower temperature toward the second space end, wherein the middle moisture-permeable membrane among the plurality of moisture-permeable membranes forms an approximately conical shape, and the parameter (moisture permeability)×(air permeability) of each of the plurality of moisture-permeable membranes decreases for the moisture-permeable membranes toward the second space end, so that water vapor in the first space is moved into the second space.

  • Patent number: 6059862
Abstract: This invention relates to a miniaturizable separation module (dehumidifier, humidifier) utilizing the gas separation property of waterproof membranes having fine moisture-permeable through holes. The separation module according to the invention comprises: a cylindrical casing 10 installed at the wall of a moisture-proof and drip-proof box 4, so as to form a gas passage communicating the inside and the outside of the box; a plurality of waterproof membranes 1, 2, 3, having fine moisture-permeable through holes, disposed in the cylindrical casing at intervals of spacing, so as to form chambers 5, 6 in the gas passage; and conductive porous structures disposed in proximity of the waterproof membranes. The longitudinal section of the solid portion around the holes of the conductive porous structure is formed into an essentially egg-like shape, and the acute angle side of the egg-like longitudinal sectional shape is disposed so as to direct to the waterproof membrane.

  • Patent number: 5985005
Abstract: A dehumidifying device in which lower humidity can be achieved in a side to be dehumidified (a side of a box) and the stable continued effect can also be obtained without any dehumidifying effect which stays at a low level due to water vapor gas electrified by an electric panel accommodated in the box side, hydrogen gas existing in outside air, or other floating dusts easily electrified in the air or the like. The dehumidifying device comprises a tubular body provided in a wall section of a box and forming a vent path for air communication between inside and outside of the box, and a vent body formed by providing an electrically grounded conductive porous body adjacent to at least one side of a waterproof membrane having moisture-permeable micro-throughholes to make a pair therewith and arranging at least two pairs thereof at a space from each other inside said tubular body to shield an inside space of the vent path into at least one chamber in the direction from the box to the outside.
