  • Patent number: 7330644
Abstract: A camera apparatus includes a single release switch member. The single release switch member is for instructing an image capture operation, and selects one of a first operative state and a second operative state. The first operative state is selected when the single release switch member is pushed down to a first depth. The second operative state is selected when the single release switch member is pushed down to a second depth which is deeper than the first depth. The camera apparatus selects a recordable portion of a recording medium in response to selection of the first operative state, and generates a predetermined electrical signal if the camera apparatus selects the recordable portion of the recording medium. The camera apparatus records the image signal on the selected recordable portion if the second operative state is selected by the single release switch member, and the predetermined electrical signal is generated.

  • Patent number: 4159167
Abstract: Disclosed is a sound motion picture projection apparatus in which a head pad is urged by a spring member toward a film pressing position at which position the head pad presses a film against a magnetic head disposed along the sound recording and reproducing film path. The apparatus has a set mechanism of the self-holding type which sets the head pad against the urging force of the spring member to a film pressure releasing position at which position the head pad releases the pressing of the film, by the driving force of a driving motor and keeps the head pad to that position.

  • Patent number: 4113369
Abstract: A motion picture projector having various functions such as, projecting and rewinding, all of which can be selectively performed by a single control knob, and including an intermittent-drive film advancing mechanism which comprises a pull-down structure, a compound cam of an up-and-down cam wheel and an in-and-out cam disk, and first and second cam followers arranged between the pull-down structure and the compound cam to be consecutively operated so that the pull-down claw enters the perforations of the film and moves it in a forward direction always by the length of a frame and at a desired frequency through a film gate mechanism. The film gate mechanism consists of a film guideway, a resilient thin aperture plate self-biased to move away from the film guideway and defining an actual projection aperture, and a movable film gate member arranged on the opposite side of the aperture plate from the guideway and biased to urge the aperture plate for guidance and support of the film against the guideway.

  • Patent number: 4077705
Abstract: A motion picture projection apparatus capable of selective use of two types of films with an open reel assembly and a film cartridge having mounted therein a pressure plate associated with a reflecting mirror. The apparatus is provided with a displaceable member carrying a pressure plate associated with a light reflecting element for use with a film strip fed from the open reel assembly. The displaceable member is arranged in the projection station of the apparatus to be displaced to a projection position where the film of open reel type is in alignment with the optical axis of the projection system and to an idle position where the film of open reel type is out of alignment with the projection system in automatic response to a removal and an insertion, respectively, of the film cartridge from and into the projection position. This is a continuation of application Ser. No. 472,416 filed May 22, 1974, now abandoned.

  • Patent number: 4066963
Abstract: The present invention relates to a synchronization system of a cine-projector with a sound tape reproducer. It is characterized in that the phase of a signal corresponding to the film feeding speed of the film projector and that of a signal corresponding to the standard speed coming from the sound tape reproducer are compared with each other so as to control the film feeding speed of the cine-projector by means of the comparison output corresponding to the phase difference. In order to accomplish this, between the driving source for driving the internal mechanism of the cine-projector and the driving member for the internal mechanism, a transmission speed varying mechanism is provided in such a manner that the transmission speed varying mechanism is controlled by means of the film speed control driving source to be driven by the comparison output so as to maintain the synchronized state.

  • Patent number: 4027958
Abstract: A system is disclosed for retrieving a film having video information recorded thereupon in synchronism with a magnetic tape having audio information recorded thereupon and for synchronizing the sound with the picture after retrieval. Address signals are recorded upon both the film and the tape. The system comprises detectors for address signals recorded upon the film and the tape, a computer including a keyboard for retrieving a desired address, comparators for comparing the outputs of the detectors with the output of the computer, and means for transporting the film and tape in response to the outputs of the comparators. Control signals are recorded upon both the tape and film for synchronizing the sound with the picture. When the control signal recorded upon the film is detected, the still picture is projected and when the control signal recorded on the tape is detected the motion picture is projected.

  • Patent number: 3967887
Abstract: A pair of signals optically different in consistency is placed on an image information recording film to be projected. A projector is provided with at least a pair of light detection elements in a position where signals may be detected. The difference between outputs from the elements is utilized as a detection signal. The above-described signals are detected by way of an ordinary speed of the film so as to automatically switch the projection mode thereof to other projection modes, such as a still projection mode, a slow motion projection mode, a fading projection mode, and still projection mode for the search and after the search. For this purpose there are provided with a control circuit for processing the output of the detection element and a drive mechanism for providing the respective projection mode in response to the output signal from the control circuit.
