  • Patent number: 4572413
Abstract: A resealable closure assembly for a container with integral closing/opening and resealing structure. The resealable closure assembly has a neck portion that is wider at its bottom than at its top. The shape of the neck portion is generally conical or frusto-conical. At least one dispensing aperture is formed in the upper area of the neck portion. A laterally extending fold line is formed in the neck portion spaced downwardly from its top end and any dispensing apertures therein. The top of the neck portion is foldable downwardly about the fold line in order to seal off the dispensing apertures in the upper area of the neck portion. Protrusions are formed integrally on the outer surface of the neck portion for detachably securing the top end of the neck portion against the area of the neck portion located below the fold line. The closure assembly is generally made of a flexible material such as plastic.

  • Patent number: 4529236
Abstract: The portable device for picking up animal droppings has a tray, a cover member, and a sheet of flexible material. The cover member is slidingly engaged to the top surface of the tray and a cord handle is attached to one end of the cover for carrying the portable device. The use of the portable device results in the picking up of the animal droppings while not requiring the person to touch the same. During this operation the animal droppings are wrapped as a package within the flexible sheet of material as they are both drawn onto the top of the tray beneath the cover member.

  • Patent number: 4475683
Abstract: A resealable closure assembly for a container having a tubular shaped body and a bottom wall closing its lower end. A neck portion has its lower edge connected to the top edge of the tubular shaped body and the neck portion is wider at its bottom than at its top. The resealable closure assembly is connected to the top end of the neck portion and it has a tubular pouring spout having a fold edge formed along its lower edge where it is connected to the top edge of the neck portion. The pouring spout is laterally collapsible upon its self and then foldable downwardly about the folding edge. A variety of inverted V-shaped clip securing members can be used for capturing the top end of the pouring spout when it is in its collapsed folded over state. In another embodiment of the invention a novel key member has cooperating structure through which the pouring spout can be inserted when in its collapsed state.

  • Patent number: 4410101
Abstract: An easy opening top closure member assembly for a container having a top member with an aperture of a predetermined configuration. A flexible foil strip member completely covers the top of the aperture. A disc member completely covers the bottom of the aperture. A pressure sensitive adhesive secured to the underside of the strip member holds the strip member securely to the top member and also to the portion of the disc member which covers the bottom of the aperture. The strip member has an open-loop scored portion which is positioned in direct contact with the top surface of the disc member. The open-loop scored portion has an interior hinge portion and two exterior hinge portions are functionally activated on the strip member when the strip is lifted at its one end to open the easy opening top closure member assembly.

  • Patent number: 4265367
Abstract: A container having an easy opening top closure member. The container has a body portion and a top closure wall member of a predetermined thickness. The top closure wall member has an outer surface and an inner surface. A groove is formed on the inner surface to define a tab-like closure member. A ridge member extends outwardly from the top surface of the closure wall member and the ridge member is positioned above and opposite to the groove. The lower portion of the ridge member is frangibly connected to the outer surface of the top closure wall member whereby the ridge member is frangibly separated from the outer surface of the top closure wall member, the tab-like closure member can be lifted upwardly to expose the interior of the body portion of the container. A gripping member is formed adjacent the free end of the ridge member to aid in tearing the ridge member free from the top of the top closure wall member. The top closure wall member is made of plastic material.

  • Patent number: 4238046
Abstract: An easy opening top closure member for a container having a top member with an aperture of a predetermined configuration. The closure member for the aperture has an exterior portion finger gripping structure, and intermediate portion in the form of a disc member that closes the aperture, and an interior portion in the form of a flange that is connected to the bottom of the disc member. The exterior portion finger gripping structure extends upwardly from the intermediate portion and functions to provide structure that can be gripped by the fingers of the person opening the top closure member by a rotational twisting motion.

  • Patent number: 4162742
Abstract: An easy opening top closure member for a container having a top member with an aperture of a predetermined configuration. A closure member for the aperture has an exterior portion and an interior portion. The exterior portion is in the form of a retaining ridge that extends upwardly from the interior portion and it functions to provide a surface against which the tip of a finger can be pushed to uncover and also cover the aperture. The interior portion is in the form of a disc whose lateral dimensions are greater than that of the aperture whereby the outer periphery of the disc functions as a pressure sealing lip against the underside of the top member.

  • Patent number: 3952914
Abstract: A re-sealable container lid for utilization, for example, with carbonated beverage containers having a metallic lid with a pouring aperture therein and having a removable seal within the aperture which is constructed of displaceable material such as rubber or plastic. The seal consists of a base pad with a raised portion on one end forming a sealing pad and a pull tab extension on the sealing pad. The base pad is dimensioned for fitting underneath the aperture in the lid and covering said aperture with the sealing pad dimensioned for extending into and sealing the aperture. The pull tab extension extends on top of the sealing pad for opening and a pulling re-sealing operation.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to a re-sealable container lid and more particularly to a re-sealable container lid where inner pressure reinforces the seal.According to the invention, a re-sealable container lid is provided of the type utilizing a pouring aperture in a metallic or rigid plastic lid.
