  • Patent number: 6334472
Abstract: An apparatus for sterilizing, filling and sealing containers has a sterilization chamber, a cooling chamber, and a filling and sealing chamber, through which the containers are conveyed by means of an endless conveyor device. For presterilizing the chambers before the apparatus is put into operation, these chambers are acted upon by a gaseous sterilizing agent flowing through them, which is fed through an inlet or an outlet for the containers. In order that regions less affected by the flowing sterilizing agent as it flows, because they are in the lee, will also be disinfected well, the flow direction of the sterilizing agent is changed multiple times. A blower with a reversible flow direction is used for this purpose.

  • Patent number: 5445870
Abstract: A method of producing overpressure valves for packaging containers supplied in a roll, transported in this form to a packaging machine, separated at the machine and attached to packaging containers by means of an adhesive coated surface. For this purpose the overpressure valves have a layer of emulsion bonding on their underside. To prevent individual layers of the roll from sticking together, the overpressure valves have an adhesive-repelling layer on their top side. The overpressure valves are connected to one another in one piece and in a row, and are separated consecutively in a packaging machine.

  • Patent number: 5335479
Abstract: A bag package making machine that operates aseptically and in which a product is filled into a tube of packaging material and bag packages are partitioned off from that tube, the parts that come into contact with the packaging material and the product are sterilized, before filling operation begins, by passing a sterilizing agent through the filling tube and the bag forming part. For passing a sterilizing agent through the filling tube, a cup-shaped connecting element, which is enclosed by the packaging material tube, is connected to the outlet of the filling tube. Toward the end of the sterilizing phase, the filling tube and the connecting element are moved apart from one another, and the part of the packaging material tube surrounding these parts is sealed off between the connecting element and the filling tube and severed, so that the filling tube end remains in the closed end portion of the tube of packaging material which continues in a sterilized condition.

  • Patent number: 4638925
Abstract: An apparatus is proposed for volumetric metering and filling of liquids which includes a vertically extending dispensing chamber provided with a lower inflow and outflow opening and an upper vent opening. A float having an indicator ring is freely reciprocable in the dispensing chamber and scanning elements for controlling the inflow or outflow of liquid are disposed outside the dispensing chamber. Further control elements control a retarded inflow or outflow of the liquid via a throttle device, so that the upper and lower height, the criterion for accurate metering out of quantities of liquid, of the surface of the liquid in the dispensing chamber can be regulated.

  • Patent number: 4469148
Abstract: A filling apparatus for viscous products, such as those including ingredients in pieces, is proposed. In order to avoid soiling of the sealing rims of the containers, onto which a cover foil is sealed, dripping or squirting from the filler mouthpiece is to be intercepted. The apparatus has a receiving element for this purpose in the form of a scoop, which in a first position assumes a vertical position remote from the filler mouthpiece which intercepts squirting and in a second position assumes a horizontal position passing beneath the filler mouthpiece. The supporting apparatus for the scoop is embodied such that when the scoop is moved from one position into the other position, the scoop undergoes a one-quarter revolution.
