  • Patent number: 9970562
Abstract: Fluid control devices including self-healing materials and related methods are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a valve body, a seat ring; a plug movable relative to the seat ring to control fluid flow through the valve body and a self-healing material on one of the plug or the seat ring. The self-healing material to self-heal without an external stimulus.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 18, 2014
Date of Patent: May 15, 2018
Assignee: EMERSON PROCESS MANAGEMENT REGULATOR TECHNOLOGIES, INC
Inventors: James Lyman Griffin, Jr., Kunrong Matthews
  • Patent number: 9920847
Abstract: Apparatus to interface with a corrugated profile are disclosed. An example apparatus for use with a fluid regulator includes an elastomeric ring having a corrugated profile that corresponds to a corrugated profile of a diaphragm of the fluid regulator. The elastomeric ring is to be positioned between a valve body and a bonnet of the fluid regulator to clamp the diaphragm between the valve body and the bonnet. The example apparatus includes a metallic ring positioned between the valve body and the bonnet to contact the elastomeric ring to support the elastomeric ring.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 27, 2016
Date of Patent: March 20, 2018
Assignee: EMERSON PROCESS MANAGEMENT REGULATOR TECHNOLOGIES, INC.

  • Patent number: 9360120
Abstract: A valve plug comprising a cylindrical body having an annular flange with a top surface, a bottom surface, and a circumference is disclosed. The valve plug further comprises an annular recess disposed in the bottom surface of the flange, and a plurality of holes disposed in the top surface of the flange. Each hole extends into the recess to create a plurality of channels extending between the bottom and top surfaces of the flange. Each channel of the plurality of channels includes a stepped portion. A polyurethane sealing member is disposed within each channel and includes: a top portion forming a continuous bond on the top surface and along the circumference of the flange; a central portion forming a horizontal bond on each stepped portion; and a bottom portion forming a sealing surface adapted to sealingly engage a seating surface of the seat.
