  • Patent number: 7472479
Abstract: A heat pipe (50) and a method (100) of producing the heat pipe are disclosed. The method includes the following steps: (1) inserting a mandrel (10) into a hollow metal casing (20) with a porous structure (30) combined to an outer surface of the mandrel; (2) filling powders (40) into a space formed between the hollow metal casing and the porous structure; (3) sintering the filled powders; (4) drawing the mandrel out of the hollow metal casing; and (5) sealing the hollow metal casing with a working fluid filled therein. The heat pipe produced by this method includes a composite wick structure (60) arranged in the hollow metal casing. By using this method, the mandrel can be easily drawn out of the hollow metal casing after the filled powders are sintered.

  • Patent number: 7364403
Abstract: A lubricating system for a fan (10) includes a lubricant storage space (17) formed at an end portion of the fan for receiving lubricant therein. A lubricant temporary retaining space (145) is defined at the other end portion of the fan for temporarily retaining the lubricant therein. A lubricant returning space (125) communicates the lubricant storage space with the lubricant temporary retaining space for enabling the lubricant to flow from the retaining space to the storage space. The returning space is defined in a tube (12) made of plastic, wherein a bearing (13) is mounted in the tube and a stator (15) is mounted around the tube.

  • Publication number: 20060171826
Abstract: An electric fan includes a fan base (10), a bearing (40), a rotor assembly (20), and an oil-retaining structure. The fan base forms a center tube (11) receiving the bearing therein. The rotor assembly includes a fan hub (22), and a pivot axle (23) joined to the fan hub. The pivot axle pivotably extends into the bearing. The oil-retaining structure can be pivoted with the rotor assembly. The oil-retaining structure defines an oil slot (25) surrounding the pivot axle. At least one oil guide rib (26) is formed in the oil slot. As the fan is operated, the lubricant oil is thrown into the oil slot, and then thrown out of the oil slot along the oil guide rib.
