    Abstract: An electrode controls transmittance of a blocking layer over a photodiode of a pixel sensor (e.g., a photodiode of a small pixel detector) by changing oxidation of a metal material included in the blocking layer. By using the electrode to adjust transmittance of the blocking layer, pixel sensors for different uses and/or products may be produced using a single manufacturing process. As a result, power and processing resources are conserved that otherwise would have been expended in switching manufacturing processes. Additionally, production time is decreased (e.g., by eliminating downtime that would otherwise have been used to reconfigure fabrication machines.

The method includes generating a plurality of reference images by an image capturing device photographing a reference road marking with a plurality of shutter speeds. The reference images are stored in a database. The method further includes generating an image by the image capturing device photographing an examined road marking according to a selected shutter speed, retrieving one of the reference data from the database that has the same shutter speed as the examined road marking by a processor, and performing a difference determination procedure between the retrieved reference data and the examined data by the processor, and outputting a determined result of the level of degradation of the examined road marking by the processor. As such, accurate determination on the level of degradation of the examined road marking can be achieved.

    Abstract: A compensation circuit for a power supply comprises a compensation component connected in parallel to a PFC choke used by a rectification unit of a power supply, said compensation component lets the current through the PFC choke pass through the compensation component (charging the compensation component) before the current is connected due to the counter electromotive force effect, and brings the angle of current connection forward (which is the operating phased current of the compensation current), and discharges the PFC choke when the compensation component is at the antiphase of the voltage; such charging current and discharging current are equal (balanced) and thus improving the completeness of the current waveform.

    Abstract: An optical system of fingerprint image capture apparatus comprises an optical platen substantially in a flat shape, a source light, and an image sensor. The optical platen includes a generally planar contact face having a dull rough surface against which a finger is placed, and a generally planar viewing face at the side of which is placed the image sensor and the light source. An incident light from the light source that strikes a region of the contact surface touched by a fingerprint ridge is scattered and passes through the viewing face to be substantially captured by the image sensor. An incident light that strikes a region of the contact face corresponding to a fingerprint valley is scattered and further passes out of the optical prism by refraction. The fingerprint ridge thereby appears as brighter regions and the fingerprint valley as darker regions.

    Abstract: A camera that can freely rotate with an angle of 360° , having a seat unit, a camera unit, and a connecting-fitting unit. One side of the camera unit has a plurality of concentric transmission circular traces, while the other side of the camera unit has a plurality of conductive rolling units corresponding to the transmission circular traces. The connecting-fitting unit is used to mount the camera unit on the seat unit, and to put the conductive rolling units and the transmission circular traces in electric contact. The camera can freely rotate while the electric contact is maintained at the same time. The power source of the camera unit and the signal input/output can be transmitted outwardly through the conductive rolling unit by the conductive circular traces.
