The picking device is adapted to pick a pill from a pill box. The transfer mechanism includes a transfer cam being rotatable about a second axis, and a driving wheel mounted to the transfer cam and received in the opening of the main arm. When the transfer cam rotates about the second axis, the driving wheel is rotated about the second axis by the transfer cam and presses an edge of the opening of the main arm, to drive the main arm to rotate about the first axis.

The resisting member resists the release assembly in the first position, and the release assembly resists the gear assembly to enable the swing gear to engage with the rack. To disengage from the gear from the gear assembly the release assembly is rotated by the resilient member thereby disengaging the swing from the rack when the resisting member is in a second position.

An engaging portion is positioned on the releasing member. The transmitting unit is connected to the engaging portion. When the releasing member rotates, the engaging portion rotates the transmitting unit, the dialing pole drops in and resists against one side in the at least one slot so the dialing tray is rotated by the dialing pole, the dialing pole slides on the dialing member so the dialing member is rotated with the dialing pole.
