The point of sale terminal includes a terminal housing with a controller portion and a cash drawer portion, a sliding sled coupled to the terminal housing residing within the controller portion of the terminal housing and between a first position and a second position wherein the first position is within the controller portion of the terminal housing and the second position is without the controller portion of the terminal housing, and a system controller coupled to the sliding sled such that when the sliding sled is without the controller portion of the terminal housing, the system controller is exposed for service.

Abstract: An apparatus for feeding a document includes a chassis, a copying device coupled to the chassis, a feed tray coupled to the chassis and moveable between a first position and second position, a first feed mechanism operable to accept a document from the feed tray and feed the document to the copying device by way of a substantially arcuate path, and a second feed mechanism operable to accept the a document from the feed tray and feed the document to the copying device by way of a substantially linear path. Paper documents may be fed to the copying device from the feed tray in the first position and photographs may be fed to the copying device from the feed try in the second position.

The storage configuration reduces the footprint of the printer by aligning with the length and width of the printer housing. The print configuration aligns the tray with a print mechanism to feed paper for printing of photographic information as an image transferred by the print mechanism. In one storage configuration embodiment, the tray removeably couples to the top of the printer housing to protect the printer's operating panel. In another embodiment, the printer housing removeably couples to the bottom of the printer housing. In another embodiment, a rotationally hinged mechanism connects the printer housing and the tray to transition between the storage and print configurations with reduced risk of separation of the tray from the printer.
