  • Patent number: 7031432
Abstract: An x-ray catheter has an x-ray tube having an x-ray source therein and an x-ray transparent window through which x-rays may pass is positioned with retractable needles or suction. The needles, if present, are retractably attached to a hinge which is operatively connected to a control that extends or retracts the needles from the device, the needles positioned adjacent the x-ray transparent window so as not to impede the flow of x-rays. Alternatively, suction opening operatively connected to a vacuum source positions the x-ray source at the desired site.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 6, 2003
Date of Patent: April 18, 2006
    Assignee: SciMed Life Systems, Inc.
    Inventor: Kurt Alfred Edward Geitz
  • Patent number: 6999559
Abstract: A heat exchanger removes heat generated by a miniaturized x-ray source to help remove heat at the site of x-ray generation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 14, 2003
Date of Patent: February 14, 2006
    Assignee: SciMed Life Systems, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6752752
Abstract: A multi-source x-ray/catheter delivers x-rays to a selected site within a body lumen. The x-ray sources are independently operable so that only the x-ray sources adjacent the target site generate x-rays during the procedure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 14, 2003
Date of Patent: June 22, 2004
    Assignee: SciMed Life Systems, Inc.
