  • Patent number: 6816902
Abstract: The invention identifies areas in a workflow graph that operate on one workstation—islands that can execute also remote from a central workflow server. Such a remote workstation can even operate physically disconnected from a central server during the interpretation/execution of the island. The workflow model is analyzed and those parts that are defined for execution on one specific workstation are encapsulated. Those parts, called “islands” can be interpreted or executed on the central workflow server, or can be downloaded from the server to a specific remote client workstation. Additionally, the islands in the workflow graph can optionally be transformed, either at the server or after downloading at the destination workstations, towards much more efficiently executable versions of the islands.

  • Patent number: 6085036
Abstract: A computer system structures and manages programs and data as components of objects. Different versions of each object may exist. An object table, version table and component table are provided into which particular time data and address references are entered. By means of these tables, a component is copied only in response to an actual change. Unchanged components are associated with the different object versions by means of tables.

  • Patent number: 6023702
Abstract: The inventive concept comprises a system platform for a synergistic, role modular work process environment. A work process object (WPO) (1001) is created, residing in a data base, and stored in a memory of the process and project management computer system (1030). All data concerning the process and project management are reported to said work process object (WPO) (1001) and said work process object (WPO) (1001) is used as a common data base. According to the inventive concept, each view must be supported by a specific workplace, represented by digital data and enforcing the rules for the specific role. A work process information model supports the dynamic definition and use of a data base object representing a work process, boch in its process and project planning modes and its execution. According to the inventive concept, one object supports simultaneously all modes delimited by dynamically moving boundaries. Workplace implementation enforces over-all rules for each role in the inventive system.

  • Patent number: 5819022
Abstract: A method for re-executing a process on a computer system is described wherein said process includes a number of activities which are executed by said computer system according to a workflow graph. Each of said activities requires for its execution at least one work item incarnation from another one of said activities, and each of said activities creates at least one work item incarnation to be used by another one of said activities. The method comprises the steps of a) identifying by a user one of said activities to be faulty and correcting it, b) evaluating by said computer system those ones of said activities which are influenced by said faulty activity with the help of said at least one work item incarnation created by said faulty activity, and c) executing by said computer system said corrected faulty activity and said evaluated activities according to said workflow graph.
