  • Publication number: 20180128249
Abstract: A transient liquid pressure power generation system can include a liquid source and a transient pressure drive device fluidly coupled to the liquid source. The transient pressure drive device can include a drive component, and a valve to cause a high pressure transient wave in the liquid traveling toward the liquid source to operate the drive component. The system can also include a liquid velocity continuation component downstream of the transient pressure drive device and a bypass conduit. Additionally, the system can include a heat source to receive liquid from the transient pressure drive device and heat liquid returning to the liquid source. The liquid velocity continuation component can operate to maintain continuous liquid flow from the liquid source to the heat source from the transient pressure drive device or the bypass conduit to cause immediate maximum liquid flow velocity from the transient pressure drive device upon opening the valve.

  • Publication number: 20070110663
Abstract: Process of producing sulfuric acid from feed gases containing 0.1-30% SO2 comprising the steps of: (a) passing the feed gas to a first catalytic conversion step in which SO2 is oxidized to SO3 over one or more catalyst beds, (b) cooling the SO3-containing gas from said first contacting step by passing said gas to an intermediate condensing stage withdrawing a gas containing unconverted SO2 and unabsorbed SO3 and withdrawing a product stream of concentrated sulfuric acid, (c) reheating said gas containing unconverted SO2 and unabsorbed SO3, (d) passing the gas from step (c) to a second catalytic conversion step, in which unconverted SO2 is oxidized to SO3 over one or more catalyst beds, (e) cooling the gas from step (d) to a temperature of 0 to 100° C. above the acid dew point of said gas, (f) passing the gas from step (e) with a molar ratio of H2O to SO3 of at least 1.05 calculated under the assumption that SO3 is not hydrated to H2SO4, and acid dew point of below about 240° C.

  • Publication number: 20060185271
Abstract: A system for protecting windows and doors during severe weather. The system comprises pre-drilled apertures in the structure surrounding the window or door to be protected and housing threaded inserts. Pre-cut plywood protective panels, sized to fit over the window or door to be protected, and having pre-drilled apertures corresponding to the structure apertures are placed over the window or door and the apertures are aligned. The protective panels are secured to the structure by flanged bolts. “L” brackets may be used in place of some of the threaded inserts and flanged bolts. During periods of non-use, the threaded inserts, bolts and “L” brackets remain attached to the structure to prevent loss. The protective panels are numbers to correspond to specific windows or doors and are stored until needed.

  • Patent number: 7059747
Abstract: The shutter drive mechanism and floodlight has an outer housing which surrounds the light fixture and also which protects the light fixture and a drive mechanism from the elements. Extending outward from the housing is a drive veil which supports the drive mechanism for raising and lowering a rigid shutter which covers the lens of the light fixture so that the light may be doused readily without turning off the lamp. The planar shutter moves horizontally or vertically within rails through a first and second slide, the shutter moveable by a drive arm which is affixed to a runner retained within a runner guide and driven by a screw drive. The shutter is actuatable between an opened and closed position such that the light fixture is adequately doused while the lamp remains on.

  • Publication number: 20050036936
Abstract: A process for the production of sulphuric acid from a sulphur dioxide containing feed gas with concentration of SO2 fluctuating between 0 and 100 mole % SO2 comprising the steps of contacting the feed gas with an aqueous solution comprising 0-50% by weight H2SO4 at a temperature between the freezing point of said aqueous solution and 50° C.; and during the contact of the feed gas with the aqueous solution absorbing at least a part of SO2 in the feed gas in the aqueous solution or desorbing at least a part of SO2 from the aqueous solution, wherein the at least a part of SO2 is desorbed by stripping the aqueous solution with the feed gas.

  • Publication number: 20050031738
Abstract: A tea bag package that includes a triangular envelope having first and second opposite flaps connected to each other along first and second sides of the triangle but not along the third side and furthermore having a third flap connected at the third side to the first flap and via a folding line foldable between a first position in which the third side is open and a second position in which the third side is closed so that the three flaps together define a closed chamber. The tea bag package includes a tea bag disposed in the chamber and a string attached to a corner of this tea bag and running through a slit or eye in the point in which the two closed sides join each other. The string has a length allowing the tea bag to exit the envelope via the third side when the third flap is in first position.
