  • Patent number: 4671810
Abstract: For the filtering of supply air, especially in the case of motor vehicles, a filter that is divided into two parts is arranged inside a housing. The two parts of the filter can be swivelled apart around swivel shafts arranged in their end areas so that, when required, an air passage means can be exposed for the passage of unfiltered air.

  • Patent number: 4662561
Abstract: Disclosed is a heater for installation on the floor or in the side walls of a motor vehicle. The heater installation comprises a first rigid plate and a second rigid plate which is firmly joined to the first rigid plate. One plate comprises a plastic material. In addition, a channel for a liquid medium is disposed between the plates and has at least one indentation therein. The heater also has an inflow pipe and an outflow pipe, wherein the channel extends from the inflow pipe to the outflow pipe.

  • Patent number: 4616693
Abstract: Disclosed is a heating and/or air-conditioning installation for automotive vehicles comprising at least one blower and a flap for affecting the flow of air, and an electronic control device for rotational speed control or speed shifting. The control device which comprises one or more electronic components capable of generating significant amounts of heat, is mounted on the flap, in order to cool the electronic components while only minimally interfering with the flow of air in the heating and/or air-conditioning installation.

  • Patent number: 4475445
Abstract: A housing for a heating or air conditioning unit for a motor vehicle is provided, which housing is disposed under the windshield at the middle of the vehicle and includes portions extending adjacent the lower or passenger foot region. This housing is provided with air outlet nozzles for directing warm (or cooled) air into the passenger foot region. The housing includes two upper housing parts separated by a separation plane extending perpendicular to the vehicle travel direction and a lower foot level housing part for the air outlets at the foot level. These three separate housing parts are form fittingly assembled together by slidably interengageable housing parts. With this arrangement, the foot level housing part can be assembled with the other housing parts without the need of additional work tools and is so integrated into the complete housing assembly that, with the slidable connection of the housing parts together, the foot level housing part is also securely and rigidly assembled.

  • Patent number: 4418743
Abstract: An electronic circuit for controlling the heating or air conditioning apparatus in an automobile permits the capability of heating the vehicle without the heat surges which can occur after short periods of ignition turn off and permitting manual on-off control of the heating system even if the thermostat fails. A second circuit for controlling the device activating the valve controls the flow of heating or cooling medium independently of the ignition switch and contains a timer to keep the valve closed for a predetermined time after ignition switch-off. Two limit switches are also present for permitting the valve to be set at an open or closed position independently of both the ignition switch and the timer.

  • Patent number: 4373665
Abstract: Disclosed is a light-weight deformable housing structure suitable for use as a collapsing component in a vehicle comprising a load-bearing lattice structure having a predetermined axis of collapse and a non-load-bearing skin enclosing the lattice structure. Also disclosed is a heater unit for a vehicle including a heater and a housing according to the invention surrounding the heater.

  • Patent number: 4344482
Abstract: A heat exchanger, especially a double-flow or multiple-flow condenser for air conditioning units of motor vehicles which includes V-shaped tube forks installed in a heat exchanger body. The tube forks are connected at their ends by the tube elbows to tube forks located downstream in the flow direction, wherein an influx of heat exchange medium is distributed between two or among several of the first mentioned tube forks. The legs of all tube forks are arranged in one plane one below the other and their ends are connected by tube sections, with each of the tube sections bridging at least two ends of adjacent tube forks and extend laterally past each other.
