  • Patent number: 9151489
Abstract: An electrolytic power plant using an electrolysis device which requires one part of the electric energy which is produced by the power plant. The electrolysis device forms a variable load for the constant control network frequency and produces hydrogen and oxygen. The power plant has an oxygen pump, a buffer container, an oxygen distribution line, and an oxygen pump that are used for the accumulated oxygen.

  • Patent number: 7737578
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for supporting the frequency in an electricity network (5) during a sudden modification of the network load and/or generating power. According to the invention, modifications of the network load and/or generating power, which cause the network frequency to deviate from a predefined value, are compensated by a modification of an additional load (6). Said additional load (6) is preferably configured by a large number of hydrogen-producing electrolysis units (7), which can be activated or deactivated for the successive modification of the additional load.

    Assignee: Evonik Power Saar GmbH
    Inventors: Andreas Dengel, Heinz-Kurt Dörr
  • Patent number: 6387836
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for renewed activation of honeycomb-shaped catalyst elements for denitrating flue gases from fossil fuel-fired boiler plants, specially coal-fired boiler plants in large power stations. According to the invention, each catalyst element if mechanically cleaned using oil and water-free compressed air before mounting. Subsequently, each element is subjected to wet chemical cleaning using fully desalinated water and dried with oil and water-free compressed air. The inventive method enables the activity of used catalyst elements to be increased from less than 50% to more than 83% of original activity.
