Publication number: 20140316382Abstract: A catheter is provided that includes an elongated body extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The body defines at least one lumen. A tip has a proximal end that is disposed in abutting relation with the distal end of the body such that the body is fixed with the tip. The tip defines a lateral opening that is defined by a wall including an external radius disposed in transition with an outer surface of the tip and an internal radius disposed in transition with an inner surface of the tip. The external radius has a non-perpendicular profile with the outer surface of the tip.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2014Publication date: October 23, 2014Applicant: Covidien LPInventors: Robert A. Morris, Cliff Karl, Kurt Green, Tony Sacchetti, Chris Dubeau, Stephen Murray, James A. Walls

Patent number: 8123892Abstract: A urology catheter is provided that includes an elongated body extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The external radius has a non-perpendicular profile with the outer surface of the tip. An expandable member has a proximal portion disposed about the body and a distal portion disposed about the tip. A method of manufacturing the urology catheter is provided.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2009Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignee: Tyco Healthcare Group LPInventors: Robert A Morris, Rita Ann Morris, legal representative, Cliff Karl, Kurt Green, Tony Sacchetti, Chris Dubeau, Stephen Murray, James A Walls

Publication number: 20070203464Abstract: A urine collection bag formed of at least one flexible sheet of material defining a fluid reservoir is disclosed which includes an anti-reflux valve. The anti-reflux valve includes a housing defining a fluid receptacle which opens into the fluid reservoir. The housing is secured to the urine collection bag such that the opening of the receptacle is covered by the at least one sheet of material. A cut-out is formed in the sheet of material below the housing opening to define a flap which overhangs the opening in the fluid receptacle. The flap is movable into the fluid reservoir to allow fluid to flow from the receptacle into the reservoir. Fluid flow from the reservoir towards the receptacle causes the flap to seal against a peripheral rim of the housing and, thus, is substantially prevented.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2006Publication date: August 30, 2007Inventors: Kurt Green, Larry Salvadori, Ryan Stapleton
