  • Patent number: 4337304
Abstract: The invention provides a multi-step photo-process for disposing a definitive band of opaque conductive material on the sidewall portion of a CRT face panel. The process provides coating the panel with a photosensitive material and discretely exposing the viewing area and terminal region of the sidewall to polymerize the material thereon. The intermediate unexposed coating is removed, and at least the sidewall portion, coated with an opaque conductive material. The polymerized coatings are degraded and removed, leaving a precisely defined band of opaque conductive material on the panel sidewall, and making electrical contact with the aperture mask supporting studs embedded therein.

  • Patent number: 4243908
Abstract: The invention provides an improvement in the electrical connective means for effecting interconnection between the mask electrode and panel components in a color cathode ray tube. A protruding element on the resilient contactor mates with an aperture in the mask frame to provide a contactor retention and release mechanism which is beneficially utilized during screen fabrication.

  • Patent number: 4230965
Abstract: The invention represents a combination means for positioning the electrical contactor in a cathode ray tube mask-panel assembly at a temporary placement substantially contiguous to the side of the mask. Being so positioned, the danger of contactor initiated abrasion of the panel during screen fabrication is substantially eliminated. The contactor, oriented between a pair of open-end hollow rib structures on the mask, is held in retractive placement by a straddling dual pronged structure accommodated by the ribs.

  • Patent number: 3931541
Abstract: An improvement is provided in a color cathode ray tube mask-panel assembly to assure positive electrical contact between the apertured mask member and the sidewall portion of the viewing panel. Resilient electrical contactor means positioned in the spacing between the mask member and the panel, is maintained in a flexed attitude with the attachment portion thereof affixed to the frame and an integral flexural contact portion so oriented to effect constant pressured contact with the conductively coated sidewall of the panel.
