  • Patent number: 5700079
Abstract: A headlight has a housing accommodating a gas discharge lamp and opening is closeable by a closing part. The gas discharge lamp is connectable by an electrical conductor with a voltage source, which is provided with a plug connection. The first plug part is arranged on the housing while the second plug part is releasable from outside of the housing. The releasable plug part blocks the cover in its position in which it closes the opening so that a removal of the cover for releasing the opening can be performed only after removal of the plug part. It is therefore guaranteed that no voltage applies to the parts of the headlight.

  • Patent number: 5497300
Abstract: A headlight for a vehicle comprises a reflector, a holder with which the reflector is displaceably connected, at least one displacing device for displacing the reflector relative to the holder, the displacing device having an adjusting element for its actuation and extending outwardly beyond the holder and also being provided with a toothing, an indicating device which indicates a deviation of an adjustment of the reflector from a predetermined nominal adjustment and having a toothed wheel which engages with the toothing of the adjusting element, the toothed wheel of the indicating device having an end surface provided with a spiral-shaped groove, and a slider engaging in the groove and displaceably guided in a receptacle in a structural element which is stationary relative to the toothed wheel and indicating the adjustment of the reflector from the nominal adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5105342
Abstract: The headlight for a motor vehicle has with an electromotive adjusting device (5) for adjusting a reflector (2). The adjusting device (5) include an electric motor (7) and a step-down gear unit which are accommodated in a housing part (12) which is arranged within the headlight housing (1). The step-down gear unit includes a small worm gear (8) and a large toothed wheel (9) with radial teeth. A rotational movement of the toothed wheel (9) is transformed via a thread between the toothed wheel (9) and the housing part (12) into a movement of the toothed wheel (9) along an axis (6) determining the adjusting direction. The toothed wheel (9) is connected with the reflector (2) a ball-ended spindle which is held pivotally with one spherical end in a spindle receptacle attached to the toothed wheel so that, when the toothed wheel moves along the axis, the spindle moves to adjust the reflector.

The toothed wheel (9) is connected with the reflector (2) via an articulated part (18). The housing part (12) is supported in the headlight housing (1) so as to be rotatable. A basic adjustment of the reflector (2) is possible from outside the headlight housing (1) via an adjusting part (26) acting on the housing part (12) by means of rotating the housing part (12).
