    Abstract: The invention provides aqueous resin emulsion containing a resin obtained by reaction of a composition containing at least: at least one polyhydric alcohol having at least two hydroxyl groups, at least one polyetherpolyol having a molecular weight of 400 to 8000 g/mol, at least one monobasic carboxylic acid, and at least one polybasic carboxylic acid having at least two carboxyl groups or its anhydride, to form a resin and the resin emulsion is modified by providing basic groups. The invention further relates to a process for preparing a resin, to a resin as obtained by the process and to a coating film obtained from the resin emulsion.
