  • Publication number: 20020158437
Abstract: A scooter comprises a platform and at least three casters. The platform has a horizontal top surface and at least one vertical side surface extending downwardly from the top surface. The casters extend downwardly to support the platform when the platform rolls. The scooter also comprises a horizontal flange and a vertical flange. The horizontal flange extends away from the vertical side surface. The vertical flange extends from the horizontal flange. The vertical side surface, the horizontal flange and the vertical flange define a groove adapted to receive a mating tongue on a second scooter. This provides an integral, low-profile tongue-and-groove type of connection between two or more scooters.

  • Publication number: 20020093139
Abstract: A dome-shaped base for a game standard is adapted to support a variety of game standards. The base includes a body defining an elongated standard hole for receiving an elongated standard such as a pole or an elongated tube. The standard hole is oriented substantially in a vertical direction through the body. The body further defines a slot having a substantially horizontal bottom surface and spaced apart vertical surfaces extending away from the horizontal surface. The slot is adapted to support a hoop in a vertical orientation.

  • Patent number: 5205799
Abstract: A playground base and standard assembly (10) includes a typical hollow traffic cone (28) having a top hole (20) for receiving a standard (12) into the cone (28). The cone (28) is modified by placing an insert (26) inside the cone for stabilizing the standard (12). The insert (26) is a solid polyethylene foam member shaped to fit snugly in the cone (28). The insert (26) has a hole (34) coaxial with a top hole (20) on the cone (28) for receiving and supporting any standard (12). One possible standard (12) includes telescoping members (40,42) for adjusting the height of the standard.

  • Patent number: 5127649
Abstract: A hockey stick safety cover (10) for disposing over the blade (14) and contiguous shaft portion (16) of a hockey stick (12) for providing cushion to reduce the danger of using a hockey stick (12) with a hard blade (14). The safety cover (10) includes a single length or block (18) of soft extruded plastic foam having a slit (20) disposed along the length for receiving and completely covering the hockey stick blade (14) and the contiguous shaft portion (16). The soft foam deforms around the slit (20) to receive and surround the blade (14) and contiguous shaft portion (16). The soft foam also provides a cushioned exterior for reducing the impact of the hockey stick (12) on persons or property. The light weight of the foam does not seriously impair the user's ability to manipulate the stick (12).
