  • Patent number: 11993169
Abstract: Provided are electric vehicle charging systems (EV charging systems) and methods of operating such systems for charging electric vehicles (EVs). A system, which may be referred to as electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE), comprises one or more EV charging ports (e.g., charge handles) for connecting to EVs. The system may include various features to identify specific EVs. The system also includes a grid connector for connecting to an external power grid and, in some examples, to monitor the power grid conditions (e.g., voltage, AC frequency). The system also includes a system controller, configured to control the power output at each EV charging port based on, e.g., vehicle charging requirements and/or available grid power. The system can also include an integrated battery, serving as a backup and/or an addition to the power grid. Furthermore, in some examples, the system includes a solar connector (e.g., with an integrated inverter) for connection to an external solar array.

  • Publication number: 20220339499
Abstract: A method and system for measuring exercise data using a plurality of wireless sensors is disclosed. The plurality of wireless sensors are attached onto or into a plurality of pieces of strength training equipment, wherein each individual wireless sensor from the plurality of wireless sensors is attached to and associated with an individual piece of strength training equipment of the plurality of pieces of strength training equipment. An individual piece of strength training equipment of the plurality of pieces of strength training equipment is selected and the wireless sensor is registered with selected piece of strength training equipment with a computing device. Strength training equipment details may be identified through the computing device.

  • Patent number: 11117018
Abstract: A system for measuring, displaying, storing and utilizing user-specific exercise data from selectorized fitness machines, including the weight, repetitions, and any other physical parameters derivable from the weight and displacement of the weight stack. The system is comprised of two coupled sensor systems: an infrared sensor and multiple Hall effect sensors. The sensors are mounted to an adjustable stand that can be retrofitted to any selectorized fitness machine. The system analyzes the measurements and sends the data to a server for storage on a per-user basis. Users are identified by a near-field communication (NFC) tag or facial recognition. The system uses an innovative coupled NFC/QR/facial recognition—Bluetooth paradigm to transmit exercise data in real-time to the Bluetooth-enabled mobile device of the user. A mobile application allows users to view the exercise data, to follow predefined workout plan, and to retrieve stored data from a remote server.

  • Patent number: 9532233
Abstract: A method for surveying a site for installation of wireless access points is provided. A map of the site under survey is displayed. User input relating to the position of a first wireless device at the site is received. User input relating to the position of a second wireless device at the site is also received. Wireless signals broadcast by the second wireless device are measured using the first wireless device to obtain signal strength values corresponding to the strength of the wireless signals. Attenuation values based on the signal strength values are calculated and assigned to features on the map of the site under survey.

  • Patent number: 8859435
Abstract: A method of removing materials, and preferably photoresist, from a substrate comprises dispensing a liquid sulfuric acid composition comprising sulfuric acid and/or its desiccating species and precursors and having a water/sulfuric acid molar ratio of no greater than 5:1 onto an material coated substrate in an amount effective to substantially uniformly coat the material coated substrate. The substrate is preferably heated to a temperature of at least about 90° C., either before, during or after dispensing of the liquid sulfuric acid composition. After the substrate is at a temperature of at least about 90° C., the liquid sulfuric acid composition is exposed to water vapor in an amount effective to increase the temperature of the liquid sulfuric acid composition above the temperature of the liquid sulfuric acid composition prior to exposure to the water vapor. The substrate is then preferably rinsed to remove the material.

  • Patent number: 8291608
Abstract: A locking cap for closing the oil fill opening of the crank case in a motorcycle engine. The cap has only three major members. A first member has an upper grip portion and a lower portion with openings located in the lower portion for holding ball bearings. A second member is located within the first member and is rotatably coupled to the first member. A lock mechanism attached to the first and second members rotates the second member relative to the first member as the lock mechanism is operated to urge the ball bearings to move through the openings in the first member as the second member is rotated in a first direction relative to the first member. A third member attached to the second member provides support for a dip stick.

  • Publication number: 20090304995
Abstract: An initially hydrophobic surface comprising fluoropolymer is treated to provide the surface with hydrophilic properties. A hydrophobic surface comprising fluoropolymer is physically treated to impart a rough texture thereto, thereby providing the surface with hydrophilic properties. In an alternative method, a roughened surface is treated with a sulfur-based acid, thereby providing the surface with hydrophilic properties In yet another method, a non-roughened surface fluoropolymer surface is treated with a sulfur-based acid for a time sufficient for the surface to exhibit hydrophilic properties. Products made by these processes are also described.
