    Abstract: To provide for rapid manufacture and ease of assembly, the coaxial connector is formed by an inner center terminal element having a central prong and two clamping elements projecting radially therefrom, the one closest to the prong being clamped over the center conductor (16) of the connecting cable and a further one being clamped or crimped over the insulating jacket of the coaxial cable to be connected, to provide for strain relief. The outer terminal element (25) is a cup-shaped structure which is also formed with a clamping extension (24) projecting radially from the bottom of the wall of the clamping projection and crimped over the outer or sleeve conductor of the coaxial cable (15); the entire assembly is surrounded by injection molding compound which also maintains separation of the clamping extension (24) and the connecting strap (23) with respect to the clamping extensions (13, 14) of the inner conductor.

    Abstract: To simplify the construction of a telescopic antenna which is projected and retracted, respectively, by a flexible wire, a rotatable wind-up drum (10) is formed with an inner space (17) to provide for wind-up of the flexible wire, the inner space, likewise, retaining a gear ring (20) in which gear projections (41) of the wire are engaged. The wire, preferably, is an elastic plastic wire element, coupled to the projecting telescoping element (A2) of a telescoping antenna (A), the drum (10) being driven by a motor (35) which receives rotation coupled thereto by a worm drive (29-34).

    Abstract: To provide a short FM antenna, of about for example 40 cm length for mobile radio, for example automobile radio application, without degradation of signal strength with respect to an about 1 m long FM antenna, a conically tapering insulating rod, for example of fiberglass, has two windings applied thereover, the two windings, each, having a straight wire length of about 1/4 the median wavelength of the FM band, and the overall length (l) of the rod having said two windings applied thereover being about 1/8 of the median wavelength. The oppositely wound windings (11, 12) are connected at their center, and may be formed as one bifilar winding, with the lower end of the lower winding being connected to an electrical terminal for standard connection to, for example, a coaxial antenna connector for an automobile radio.

    Abstract: An antenna control system employing a d.c. motor for extending and retracting a telescoping antenna for use on a vehicle. The control system comprises a polarity responsive timer, a polarity reversal switch, and a switching device. In one position of the switching device, a d.c. voltage of a polarity determined by the position of the polarity reversal switch is connected across the motor for an interval of time determined by the timer to extend or retract the antenna. In the other position of the switch, the vehicle operator controls the motor and therefore the antenna position.

    Abstract: A rod antenna support has a foot portion adapted to be affixed to a base and a pivotal joint mounted in the foot portion. The pivotal joint has a socket provided with a slot and a cylindrical body received in the socket for rotary motion in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the foot portion. A terminal screw forming an end portion of a rod antenna projects through the slot of the socket and threadedly engages into a diametral bore of the cylindrical body. The cylindrical body has a throughgoing cylindrical passage which extends transversely to the longitudinal axis of the foot portion. The cylindrical body is rotatably received in the throughgoing passage. A flange-like stop is affixed to the terminal screw outside the socket for being clamped against an external face of the socket when the terminal screw is threaded into the bore.
