  • Publication number: 20170011308
Abstract: A method for receiving a description of a problem and applying machine learning to automatically solve the problem includes receiving, by a first computing device, from a second computing device, via a user interface component, a description of a first problem. The method includes assigning, by a clustering engine executing on the first computing device, the first problem to a class. The method includes identifying, by a correlation engine executing on the first computing device, a first database associated with the class. The method includes retrieving, by the correlation engine, from the identified database, first data relevant to the first problem. The method includes providing, by the first computing device, via the user interface component, a suggestion for solving the first problem, based on the retrieved first data.

  • Publication number: 20100043332
Abstract: A tile assembly having a plurality of tiles adapted to join in an interlocking and repeating fashion. A plurality of tile assemblies can be joined to each other to form a roof. Each tile assembly includes left and right center tiles positioned side-by-side. Each tile has a generally diamond shaped main surface with vertically spaced upper and lower apices and laterally spaced lateral apices. Two upper flanges extend upwardly and outwardly from the main surface along upper edges and are joined in an upper flange apex. Each center tile includes two lower flanges that extend downwardly and outwardly from the main surface along the lower edges. The tile assembly includes upper and lower tiles of the same configuration. The upper tile fits over the adjacent upper flanges of the two center tiles, and the lower tile fits beneath the adjacent lower flange of the two center tiles.

  • Patent number: 7083985
Abstract: A coplanar waveguide biosensor and methods of use include a coplanar waveguide transmission line and a sample containment structure. The coplanar waveguide transmission line is operable to support the propagation of an electromagnetic signal and includes a signal line and one or more spaced apart ground elements. The signal line is configured to conduct a time-varying voltage, and the one or more ground elements are configured to maintain a time-invariant voltage, a detection region being formed between a portion of the signal line and a portion of at least one of the one or more ground elements. Detection methods are improved through the enhancement of the electric field in the detection region via impedance discontinuities in the signal line and ground elements. The sample containment structure intersects the detection region of the coplanar waveguide transmission line and includes a cavity configured to hold 1 ml or less of sample solution within the detection region.

  • Patent number: 5325910
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for continuous casting with a continuous casting annular mold. The method includes: providing a continuous annular casting mold having a superstructure secured over a chill, the superstructure including an overhang extending over the inner wall of the chill; cooling the inner wall surface of the chill; introducing a mixture of a lubricant and gas under pressure at the transition of the overhang and the inner wall surface of the chill. The mixture is introduced in a direction parallel to the inner wall surface of the chill. A molten material to be cast is introduced to the mold in a direction from above the superstructure. The cast material is drawn off from below the chill, and the mixture of gas and lubricant maintains a gap between the material to be cast and the inner wall surface of the chill. A continuous casting mold is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4890697
Abstract: There is disclosed a sensing apparatus for monitoring a structure subject to wear, and providing an automatic indication upon the thickness of such structure being worn to a predetermined, minimum operable value. Such apparatus includes a sensing device that is insertable into a recess in one surface of structure to a depth corresponding to the predetermined minimum thickness; and a coaxial electrical cable including an inner conductor, a heat resistant covering, and an outer metallic tubular sheath that is preferably corrugated. One end of the coaxial cable is shaped as a loop and is positioned within the sensing device in the vicinity of the bottom face thereof, while the other end of the cable is connected to a contact assembly to which is connected a measuring circuit for automatically ascertaining the condition of the cable components within the sensing device.

  • Patent number: 4057100
Abstract: A hot head continuous casting mold process and assembly wherein a separating and/or lubricating agent reservoir is provided in the mold, the agent being applied through channels over the surface of the mold wall by passage from the reservoir into a cavity defined by the mold wall, the hot head and the surface of molten metal. The removal of the agent from the reservoir is due to the pumping action produced during the casting operation by the shifting of the molten liquid meniscus.
