  • Patent number: 7286916
Abstract: In a method for defining the time and scope of maintenance operations for a system having a plurality of maintenance items, each of which should be carried out within an assigned tolerance range, a minimum maintenance interval between successive maintenance operations is predefined. The timing of a maintenance operation is predictively fixed at at least that tolerance range end point which is the first of the tolerance range end points of maintenance items relating to maintenance times to follow the time of a preceding maintenance operation while complying with the minimum maintenance interval. At least those maintenance operations whose tolerance range end points occur before the predicted subsequent maintenance time are defined as the scope of the imminent maintenance operation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 13, 2002
Date of Patent: October 23, 2007
    Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AG
Inventors: Robert Hoeflacher, Rainer Kaufmann, Walter Kostelezky, Kurt Lay, Rupert Reiger

  • Patent number: 6314634
Abstract: The invention concerns a process and device for fitting wheel heads on a vehicle chassis. The chassis and wheel head are first brought into a reference position relative to one another. Wheel guide elements which have not yet been finally fitted are used to determine the securing positions for the reference position and secured.

  • Patent number: 4919986
Abstract: A plastic suction cup is disclosed which has an interior collecting pocket, which is slotted in axial direction, for repairing minor damage to laminated safety glass. In its wall, the plastic suction cup has a thinner spot which is provided for the piercing by a hollow needle. This piercing point is located opposite the axial slot of the collecting pocket in such a manner that it can be reached by the hollow needle.

    Assignee: Daimler-Benz AG
    Inventors: Kurt Lay, Erwin Sailer
  • Patent number: 4851169
Abstract: A repair method for repairing stone or gravel impact damages on windshields of mult-layer safety glass, in which the damaged place is covered with a transparent suction cup, a vacuum is produced underneath the suction cup and a liquid-clear hardening synthetic resinous material is applied onto the damaged place by means of an injection needle pierced through the suction cup. Compared to known repair methods, the method of this invention requires a lesser apparatus expenditure and can be carried out in a more simple manner.
