  • Publication number: 20070175570
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing compressed plastic-coated fibres or fibre strands, consisting of essentially parallel filaments, from fibre strands consisting of filaments coated with plastic. The invention is characterised in that fibre strands or a composite of a plurality of such fibre strands consisting of essentially parallel filaments to which the plastic is applied in a melted or liquid state, optionally as powder, are guided, following the coating, by means of a rotating device (6) which is used to carry out a local rotation of the fibres. The invention also relates to the use of the inventive individual filaments for producing saw threads, tapes and prepegs, fibre-reinforced plastic granulated material and fibre-reinforced preforms, or fibre-reinforced pultruded or extruded profiled elements. The invention further relates to a device for carrying out the inventive method.

  • Publication number: 20060186729
Abstract: A hydraulic brake system for a motor vehicle supplies pressurized brake fluid to a wheel brake in response to a demand signal. The brake system includes a master cylinder in fluid communication with the wheel brake to control the actuation thereof. Furthermore, actuation of the master cylinder is controlled and/or amplified by first and second pressure-amplifying mechanisms, which are electrically controlled by an electrical control unit.

  • Publication number: 20050216154
Abstract: A system and method protects against rollover in a vehicle by employing an array of linear acceleration sensors. A control module includes, among other things, a model of the vehicle dynamics and a model of the array of sensors. A state vector is estimated based on the detected accelerations, the model of the vehicle dynamics and the model of the sensors. A control signal is generated based on the state vector, and the roll moment of the vehicle is reduced based on the control signal.

  • Publication number: 20050216146
Abstract: The present invention features a system and method for estimating body states of a vehicle. The system includes at least two sensors mounted to the vehicle. The sensors generate measured vehicle state signals corresponding to the dynamics of the vehicle. A signal adjuster transforms the measured vehicle states from a sensor coordinate system to a body coordinate system associated with the vehicle. A filter receives the transformed measured vehicle states from the signal adjuster and processes the measured signals into state estimates of the vehicle, such as, for example, the lateral velocity, yaw rate, roll angle, and roll rate of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6920965
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spot-type disc brake with a brake housing straddling a brake disc, with at least one brake pad that is arranged in the brake housing so as to be slidable in the actuating direction and cooperates tribologically with the brake disc upon brake application, with at least one actuating device arranged in the brake housing to apply an actuating force to the brake pad, and with a spring assembly for the active adjustment of a clearance between the brake pad and the brake disc after brake application. To simplify the configuration of the spring assembly, the spring assembly comprises exactly one spring which is secured detachably in the spot-type disc brake and is supported on the brake pad and on the brake housing. A spring of this type is arranged advantageously symmetrically within the brake housing to prevent an undesirable inclined positioning of the brake pads.

  • Publication number: 20020043436
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spot-type disc brake (1) with a brake housing (3) straddling a brake disc, with at least one brake lining (5, 6) that is arranged in the brake housing (3) so as to be slidable in the actuating direction and cooperates tribologically with the brake disc upon brake application, with at least one actuating device (4) arranged in the brake housing (3) to apply an actuating force to the brake lining (5), and with a spring assembly for the active adjustment of a clearance between the brake lining (5) and the brake disc after brake application. To simplify the configuration of the spring assembly, the spring assembly comprises exactly one spring (8, 18, 25, 31, 33) which is secured detachably in the spot-type disc brake (1) and is supported on the brake lining (5), on the one hand, and on the brake housing (3), on the other hand.

  • Patent number: 4520631
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling and optionally regulating the level of liquid P.sub.2 S.sub.5 in a cooling device. To this end, an inert gas is introduced into the cooling apparatus arranged in inclined position. More particularly, the inert gas is introduced into the cooling apparatus' lower end portion through an inlet opening thereinto near a P.sub.2 S.sub.5 -feed inlet, and forced to bubble through the liquid P.sub.2 S.sub.5. The pressure difference which establishes in accordance with the P.sub.2 S.sub.5 liquid level in the device is measured and variations in the respective pressure difference are utilized for regulating the supply of liquid P.sub.2 S.sub.5 to the cooling device so as to maintain a predetermined liquid level therein.
